On Mother's Day, my world shattered when my daughter passed away in the hospital. Meanwhile, my husband abandoned us, stealing our entire life savings to vacation with his lover and mother. He claimed a tragic local event inspired him to stop being my financial resource and start living for himself. When I confronted his betrayal, he pushed me to my death. Now, I have suddenly regressed to the day my husband first woke up, given a second chance to change everything.

Daughter Died On Mother's Day, Husband Traveled with Lover Chapter 1

On Mother's Day, my daughter died in her hospital bed. Meanwhile, my husband posted photos of his trip on social media.

He said the incident with the boy who jumped into the river made him realize that he no longer wanted to be my living ATM. He wanted to enjoy life and be filial to his mother, so he took all of our savings.

Seeing the happy family of three in the photos, I angrily confronted him, only to be pushed down the stairs and fall to my death.

When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the day my husband woke up.

——

The phrase "The boy who jumped into the river died so miserably, a man should never end up like that" echoed in my ears as the kitchen knife in my hand clattered to the floor.

I looked around at everything familiar in the room, then at Jude Adams, who was sitting on the sofa scrolling through videos. It dawned on me that I had been reborn and returned to half a month ago.

God must have sensed my anger and granted me a chance to start over. I picked up the kitchen knife from the floor and approached Jude.

"This video really opened my eyes. I want to live for myself and be a good son to my mother!" he said.

I replied, "You're right, so let's get a divorce. We'll divide the assets through legal procedures, but you must share the cost of Belle's treatment with me. After the divorce, you can take your share of the money and enjoy your awakened life."

My stance with the kitchen knife scared him. "Rosie, what are you talking about? Why you want to divorce out of the blue?" he asked.

I snatched Jude's phone and pulled up his transaction records. Designer bags, travel packages, a gold bracelet, none of it was missing.

"Every penny you spent, every piece of our shared property you transferred, you're going to cough it all up!" I yelled at him.

Jude panicked, fumbling to explain. But in the end, he resorted to unreasonable tantrums and said, "The money at home is all earned by me! What's wrong with rewarding myself occasionally? Do you want to push me to death like the girlfriend of that boy who jumped into the river? What's wrong with being filial to my mother?"

I couldn't be bothered to argue and slashed the knife into the door. "This is my house. Get out and wait for the court summons. As for your nonsense, leave it to the judge!" I screamed.

Maybe it was because I looked too terrifying at that moment, but Jude didn't dare to talk back. He left in a hurry without even packing his things. I returned to the kitchen to continue cooking.

Seeing the ribs on the cutting board, I couldn't hold back my tears. Belle's condition had improved a lot recently. I wanted to make something good to nourish her, so I gritted my teeth and bought a rack of ribs.

In my previous life, I cut the rack of ribs into eight pieces.

Five pieces for Belle, three for Jude, while I soaked some bread in the soup.

As for this life, not only the ribs but also half the family property, I would make sure that every single day from now on, they live in unbearable torment!

Jude thought I was throwing a tantrum out of jealousy, so after hiding outside for two days, he shamelessly came back.

He said, "Rosie, don't be mad. Mother's Day is coming up and I just wanted to take my mom out to relax. Margerie happens to be in the travel business, so with her help, we could save some money."

Mother's Day? I couldn't help but recall everything from my previous life.

It was on this day in my past life that I received my daughter's critical condition notice. End-stage renal failure.

The fortunate news was that the doctor told me a suitable kidney donor had been found and my daughter could be saved.

"Please go ahead and pay the surgery fee first. You'll need to prepare around one hundred thousand later. Suitable kidneys are hard to come by, many people are waiting for them. We prioritized your daughter because she's so young."

"Doctor, don't worry. Money is not an issue. Please save my daughter," I replied.

For a patient with renal failure, a kidney donor was a lifeline. I didn't dare delay and rushed to the payment counter, feeling a surge of relief. My daughter's safety was the best Mother's Day gift I could ever receive.

But when I swiped the card, I froze, there was only 15.8 dollar left in the account.

This was Jude's bank card and I had also deposited our wedding gift money into it. There should have been at least five hundred thousand in there.

I frantically called Jude, but I couldn't get through no matter how many times I tried.

He didn't answer the phone, didn't respond to WhatsApp. I was sweating in panic and even tried calling my mother-in-law, Linda Evans, but still couldn't reach anyone.

"Please, answer the phone!" I couldn't hold back my tears. Every second I delayed, my daughter's life slipped away a little more.

The doctor kept urging me. In desperation, I started calling relatives and friends to borrow money.

My aunt asked in confusion, "Belle is critically ill? You must be a scammer. I saw Jude's post on WhatsApp, he and his family are on a trip."

My aunt sent me a screenshot and in the photo were not only Jude and Linda but also his high school sweetheart, Margerie Beckham.

I felt like I had fallen into an ice pit. Belle had been in poor health since she was a child and I had to quit my job to take care of her.

Jude often worked overtime and traveled for business, earning money to support the family.

I ran back and forth between home and the hospital every day, pinching pennies just to save money for emergencies.

But I never imagined that Jude wasn't supporting our family at all. He even took Belle's life-saving money to go on a trip with Linda and Margerie.

I was dazed for three seconds, then quickly snapped back to reality and continued to gather money.

But by the time I had collected the full amount for the surgery, the doctor told me the kidney had gone to another patient. Belle had died.
