Chapter 4

It wasn't my account.

There was a tiny slash after the name.

The app didn't allow duplicate names, so it was clear someone had tampered with Steve's phone, deleted my account, and added this fake one.

Who could so quickly access Steve's phone? It didn't take much guessing.

I had no intention of resenting Hailey's actions to frame me even after my death because what hurt me more was that my husband hadn't noticed such an obvious flaw.

Of course not.

I smiled bitterly at myself.

Steve never kept our chat history. As soon as we finished talking, he deleted the conversation.

But he and Hailey's chat records must be printed out and kept as evidence of their love.

Steve looked at Elios arrogantly.

"Hand her over. I need her blood to save someone. Leave the blood and I won’t care if you two run off together as shameless adulterers!"

Elios looked visibly uneasy, ignoring Steve’s accusations.

"Finding her is what matters now. Tell me quickly, where was the last place you saw Helena? I think something’s happened to her. I’ve tried calling her for two days without an answer."

Steve replied casually, "Oh, at the airport. She said she was going to Kaldor to hide from the typhoon!"

Elios slammed the door and stormed out.

My tears uncontrollably flowed down.

Steve, Elios and I had been friends for a long time. We've never done anything wrong. Now, you think I've cheated on you just because of a message from a fake account? You're heartless, Steve.

The phone rang and Hailey’s sweet voice chimed in.

"Steve, where are you? My leg is hurting again. Dr. Lawson said we can't get the treatment I need here, so I wanted to talk to you about going abroad."

As soon as Steve heard this, he ran out without taking an umbrella.

"Hailey, don’t worry. I’m coming back right away. Once the typhoon passes, we’ll go abroad for treatment, no matter the cost. Even if I lose everything, I'll make sure your dancer's legs are healed."

I followed him coldly, a bitter laugh escaping my lips.

What a joke.

Dancer's legs.

Hailey didn’t even know how to dance!

Part 4

Steve's true love wasn’t Hailey, but Cynthia.

In the roller coaster accident five years ago, the talented dancer Cynthia tragically lost her life.

Steve hadn't been able to move on since then.

When I took over, the amusement park gradually made it through tough times.

Steve's father valued my work and kept pressuring Steve to marry me, but he always refused.

In the dead of night, Steve unexpectedly showed up at my place.

He took off his coat and pressed me against the wall, reeking of alcohol.

"Helena, the only person I've ever loved in my life is Cynthia. Anyway, they're all the same except her. So, why don't you? I'm sick of the old man's nagging."

Four years later. He gave me flowers on my birthday and often flashed me those charming smiles. I thought my struggles had finally paid off.

But then he met Hailey.

That night was Cynthia's death anniversary. He was smoking under the roller coaster when he saw someone dancing gracefully under the moonlight.

Her clumsy dance moves somehow, with the perfect timing and setting, touched the softest part of his heart.

From then on, he valued Hailey more than anything.

Hailey joined the amusement park's dance troupe and started doing simple parade dances. Then, she managed to scrape by.
