Many years ago, werewolves vampires, and witches were enemies. They fought often and were restricted.

The wolves and vampires ended the fight after a long period. They formed a contract to rule together. They resolved to battle a representative from each faction to choose the leader as there could only be one. Witches refused to participate in these preparations.

Wolves defeated vamps in a combat. The wolf that won became the leader. King Spenser's grandpa.

Wolves and vampires created their own laws and constitutions.

Since then, wolves and vampires have lived in harmony. However, the witches were driven from their kingdoms and swore never to interact with mountain lions or blood suckers.

From Spenser's great grandpa through his grandfather to his father to him, King Spenser, the Wolves have ruled.

The Almighty King Spenser had one issue. It may have been his biggest issue.

Ella, now 18 years old, said nothing as she down the ancient, rickety stairs and joined her family in the dusty dining room, where several members were already seated and eating. She felt like an outcast in the family since she was dressed so drably compared to her sisters. Her beautiful blond hair and wide cheeks were complemented by her round eyes, which were white with grey balls. It was impossible to miss her innate attractiveness despite her exhausted appearance.

She shuffled to the dining room with her head down, ignoring the six people in there (her parents, three step sisters, and one step brother).

After a brief struggle, Ella wrested the dining table away from Lisa, who was standing in front of her.

There were only six people seated at the table, but Ella could tell that the extra chair wasn't meant for her.

Ella paused on her stroll to listen for an answer to Rebecca's (her younger sister) question.

The question was directed at Rebecca: "What's wrong with you? Having her at the table baffles me. Ella's heart was broken by Lisa's abrupt response.

"Lisa..!"

"What?" She laughed at the idea.

"You can't say that I lied, can you? This is the common sour reality. In the whole pack, Ella is the only one who hasn't changed. The only WOLF without any special skills. She is just as nave as the average person. I would have sworn she wasn't related to us; she certainly doesn't come from the wolf family's bloodline. But father says she's his first wife's kid, so maybe she is."

Even though the stairwell was a fair distance from where she stood, she paid no attention to their chatter until she reached it and shakily climbed the steps.
