Contractual Marriage: Unconditional Love
Chapter 1
After four years of love, Chole promised to marry me as soon as my company went public.
But on the last day, she became someone else's bride.
I looked at her with heartache, wanting her to give me a reason, but she was pulled behind her by the man behind her.
"Elliot, I have an incurable disease. I don't have much time left. My only wish in this life is to marry Chole."
Chole's eyes were filled with tears, and she said in a crying voice, "Can you not be so petty? I'm just helping Noah fulfill his wish. I'm not really going to marry him."
I smiled wryly and said, "You might as well marry." Then I left.
That day, I packed up her things and threw them out.
——
There was only one day left before the company went public.
However, Chole was nowhere to be seen.
A friend of Chole and I looked at me with complicated eyes, as if she had something to say.
My intuition told me that something was wrong. I called Chole frantically, but no one answered.
At some time, my friend sent me a photo.
[You can't get through. She's having a wedding ceremony.]
[It's not too late now.]
There was an address attached to the photo.
My intuition told me that this wasn't a joke.
Chole was a romantic person, but she never took the initiative. She would never do a romantic proposal ceremony.
The closer I got to my destination, the more uneasy I felt.
I saw Chole's brother and his friends at the door.
Chole's brother looked as if he had seen a ghost. "Damn, which bastard told him the address?"
His words confirmed my guess.
I pointed at the tightly shut door and asked in a trembling voice, "Why can't you tell me?"
"Let me ask you another question. Is your sister the one who is having a wedding ceremony inside?"
I grew up with Chole.
We've studied very well and always the top two at school We've always been the model students since we were young.
Even if others found out that I was with her later, they would only thought it was normal for us to be together.
That was what I thought too.
Because of my early wisdom, I thought my peers were very childish, which made me have no friends.
I had thought about it more than once tha it weren't for Chole, I would probably have died alone.
Thank God for sending her to me.
Every time I said that, she would lean close to my ear and laugh.
"Did I say that I would have died of boredom without you."
I just looked at her gently, and my heart was slowly filled.
I was so lucky to have her by my side.
I kept my promise. As soon as the company went public, I would marry her.
But one day later, she became someone else's bride.
In the end, Chole's brother failed to stop me.
When I pushed the door open and entered, Chole looked at me with the guests.
For a moment, her face changed dramatically.
Just as she was about to speak, she was pulled behind by Noah, who looked apologetic.
"Elliot, don't blame Chole."
"I have an incurable disease and don't have much time left. My only wish in this life is to marry Chole, and Chole is here to fulfill my wish."
Chole's eyes were full of tears, and she looked at me with complaint.
"Elliot, can you not be so petty? I'm just helping Noah fulfill his wish. I'm not really marrying him."
"Noah is about to die. Can you let him go!"
Looking at her eyes, I couldn't say anything to question her.
My strength was rapidly draining away.
I nodded and smiled wryly. "Okay, I'll let him go, and I'll let you go too!"
I slowly took off the couple ring that had been hanging around my neck for a long time and threw it to the ground.
My heart throbbed in pain.
"You two are a match made in heaven. I wish you a happy life."
After that, I turned around and left.
Chole didn't expect me to be so decisive. She wanted to chase after me, but she stopped when she heard Noah’s voice.
"Chole, go after him. I'm about to die. There's nothing to worry about."
"Elliot is the one you'll spend the rest of your life with. I don’t mind!"
In the end, Chole didn't chase after me.
