Chapter 9

Miracle carefully put the plate and utensils on the table. He only served one person because he knew his wife would not eat breakfast.

"What?"

The woman immediately walked out of the kitchen when she heard her husband's voice from the living room.

She saw Trigger sitting on the sofa while talking to someone over the phone.

"So you're telling me that it was her parents who approached you to set up that wedding?"

Miracle decided to hide while listening to Trigger. She doesn't know what wedding it refers to.

The woman winced when her husband lightly hit the wall.

"Why did you tell this to me just now, attorney ?! I fucking confirmed it to you multiple times if it was my wife who went there and convinced you to arrange a wedding for the both of us. But you're telling this to me, right now, that it was her parents who paid you? "

Miracle just frowned when she couldn't understand what he was saying. He was a bit far from Trigger's position so he couldn't understand some of the man's words.

She just went inside the kitchen once again to clean the kitchen counter.

But he also immediately turned to where his wife was when she called his name.

She saw Trigger sitting on the sofa while massaging his forehead.

"Why? Are you leaving? It's probably your morning. Is there a problem with the company again?" she asked him politely.

The man turned to her. "Where have you been?"

"I was in the kitchen. I cooked some breakfast. Do you want to eat first? I'll prepare you."

His wife frowned. "You know that I don't eat breakfast. You're just wasting some food when you're eating it all by yourself."

Miracle smiled bitterly. "It's okay. It's not wasted. Shanelle's husband comes here every morning to pick up the breakfast I'm cooking since Shanelle's favorite is my cooking. So it's okay. All right, be careful."

She was about to go inside the kitchen when he faked a cough.

"What did you say? You're letting a man come into our house?"

Our? Miracle silently whispered inside her mind.

"I-I-don't let him in. He has a car, 'cause we're just outside the gate talking so--"

"And now you're talking back to me?" his wife's answer was unbelievable.

"No, Trigger, not like that. I-I'm not really letting him in."

"Forget that! Don't ever give some food without my consent."

She bowed her head a little. "S-Sorry. Not anymore, p-promise."

Trigger stared at him. "You're making me mad, and I suddenly got hungry because of that. Move. I'll eat first."

Unbeknownst to her, the man passed her and went straight into the kitchen.

Miracle was left stunned for a few more seconds before he returned to reality. She walked towards the kitchen and saw Trigger sitting on the dining area.

The woman came here to serve but the man weakly shook her hand. "Stop serving me. Have you eaten yet?"

She shook her head. "M-I'll eat later when you leave."

Trigger angrily grabbed the seat to the right before moving it away. "Sit."

"Trigger, m-later--"

"I said sit," its tone was furious.

Miracle just sat on the chair without saying anything. He just ate with his wife because he might get very angry later.

"Miracle."

The woman turned to the man as he called her name. "Why? Are you thirsty? Wait a minute--"

"For how long your parents are badmouthing you in front of everyone?" Miracle was silent at what her husband asked.

It seems like she forgot to speak for a moment.

Why would a man ask such a question in the middle of a meal? Maybe he's about to insult her too.

"Badmouthing? You knew for how long, Trigger. You know how my parents insult me in front of you all so why would you ask me that?" Her eyes watered when she said that.

"It's not like that. Listen."

"If you're here to brag about my parents being on your side, then stop. Stop acting like you can't hear the tone in their voices whenever they're talking to me, Trigger. And if you're asking for how long, I don't know also. Since I've been brainwashed, they don't really like me anymore so I can't answer you either, "he answered calmly.

Trigger stayed silent for a minute.

"I was just asking." There was a thud in its tone before he glanced at her.

Miracle cleared her throat. "I'm sorry for being rude. I just don't like p-talking about them, Trigger. I'm really sorry."

He tsked at her. "Just ask once you're still angry." It exploded continuing to eat while slightly frowning.

She just sighed. This is exactly right. His wife would initiate a conversation once but he still interrupted it.

"Oh, he's here. Just wait, I'll just give this paperbag to Shanelle's wife." Miracle grab the paperbag on her side when she heard the loud noise coming from the outside.

He walked quickly out of the house before opening the gate. Shanelle's husband's car opened up to him immediately.

Miracle approached Eric who immediately smiled at her. "Hi, Miracle! I'm sorry if it's a little early, my wife is howling again."

She giggled because of that, she simply handed over the breakfast prepared for her friend. "It's okay. I also woke up early. Just let Shanelle know that I'll come to you sometime to visit the kids."

Eric smiled sweetly. "Sure! My wife and my kids will be happy to see you. Thank you for this one again. I have to go."

The man waved at her before she finally left.

Miracle happily entered the gate before walking straight towards the door. But he also stopped walking when he saw his wife leaning against the door jamb and staring at him.

"How did you know he's coming?"

She took her phone from her pocket before showing Eric's message.

"She texts me when she's close to get the food. Then for Shanelle the--"

She stopped stalking when Trigger aggressively grab her phone.

"Husband of Shanelle. That's the name registered on his number and my name registered on your contacts is Trigger? Fucking Trigger?" his wife asked incredulously.

"W-What's the matter with that?" the woman asked incredulously.

"You're naming someone's husband as 'husband' and I am registered on your phone with this name? Trigger, huh?" He angrily typed into his cellphone before handing it back.

Miracle's gaze followed her husband as he passed her and went straight to the car.

The woman looked down at her cellphone. Trigger changed his name registered on his number.

From Trigger to Your Fucking Husband.

Miracle held her cheeks with what she read.
