Cheating Love, Endless Price
Chapter 5
After that night, he rarely called me. He replied to my messages several hours later.
I sent him so many messages. But Jasper just replied with an "Ok."
Jasper changed his attitude toward me. He became cold.
I knew something was wrong. I rushed to complete the task assigned by the company. I returned two days earlier.
When I got home, Jasper hadn't gone home yet.
I waited on the couch from five in the afternoon until 11 at night. Jasper never came back.
I sent him a message: [Where are you?]
No reply.
I called him.
He still didn't reply.
I called a few of his friends. They also didn't know where he was.
I thought, "How could he suddenly disappear without a trace?"
I stayed awake all night. I was nervous.
At six o'clock the next morning, there was the sound of a key unlocking the door.
Jasper came back. He smelled strongly of alcohol. His shirt was wrinkled. He was surprised to see me.
He said, "Why are you coming back?
"Have you eaten yet? You didn't tell me you would come home earlier. Did you order some food for yourself?"
I stood up. I said angrily, "I've been waiting for you all night."
Jasper frowned. "Why are you waiting for me? I had something to do last night. I invited my colleagues to go to the party. I got drunk and slept in a hotel."
I doubted what he said. I became suspicious.
While he was taking a shower, I looked through his clothes. There was no smell of perfume, lipstick marks, or women's long hair on them.
Jasper once told me that he wouldn't fool around with other women. He thought it was disgusting.
I wondered, "Am I worrying too much? Maybe Jasper didn't lie. He got drunk and slept in a hotel. So he didn't come home."
