Chapter 1

My ex-boyfriend, Jasper Ward, invited me to his wedding.

Jasper said, "I accepted your gift. But I didn't agree to be with you again."

Jasper and I had a fight. He wanted to break up. So I gave him a watch worth a million dollars. I begged him to come back.

He accepted the gift. The next day, others told me that he was getting married.

Jasper wanted to be the manager. Leonard Edward was the chairman of this company. So Jasper made great efforts to pursue Leonard's niece, Kathy Edward.

But Jasper didn't know that Leonard also had a daughter.

The position of a manager had been prepared for him a long time ago!

It was noon.

I stopped working. I opened the dialog box.

Jasper sent me a lot of messages.

I read them one by one. The latest one was a takeaway link. Jasper: [Darling, I love you so much. I want to eat steak for lunch today.]

[You want me to pay?]

[Zoe, I'm a little short of money recently.]

He had been saying this for almost two years. I was getting tired of it.

Jasper was very good to me. But he didn't want to spend money on me. He would let me pay for everything.

Every time Jasper and I quarreled about this, he would patiently explain,

"I want to save money to marry you!"

I sneered. I didn't say much.

I thought, "Don't fool with me. I know everything."

Jasper and I had been together for seven years.

We loved each other very much. Our classmates jokingly called us "the model couple".

We met in college. We got along very well. But Jasper mistakenly thought I had a boyfriend.

Later, after he knew I was single, he started pursuing me. I quickly agreed.

He was always wearing washed-out jeans. He spent his time on part-time jobs and studying.

One time, on Jasper’s birthday, I gave him a laptop.

The next day, he came to me. He wanted to return the gift to me. He said, "This is too expensive. My friend said it cost more than 10,000 dollars."

Jasper had beautiful eyes. I kissed his face.

"I will not take back the gift. You had to go to the library every time you wanted to look up information. It was too inconvenient."

Jasper hesitated for a long time. But finally he accepted it.

He worked very hard that semester. Later, he gave me a necklace of the same price.

Jasper said, "You deserve the best."
