Chapter 1

When I was being executed, my brother was ordering flowers for our adopted sister, intending to give them personally on her graduation day.

On graduation day, the cake ordered in my name was delivered to the school, and his growl became the last thing he said to me.

"You don't deserve to have cake in your life!"

Later, he received a call from the bureau, and after dropping off our adopted sister, he rushed to the police station to handle a criminal case.

His face turned pale when he used criminal psychology to reconstruct the crime scene.

The cruelty of the murderer exceeded the limits of human cognition. The methods that person used were just inhumane.

However, he did not realize that the one being retaliated against was his own sister, whom he despised.

After my death, my body parts were packed into birthday gift boxes and sent to the police station by express delivery.

A total of two hundred packages were delivered, each with the name of a police officer written on it.

Initially, the security guard who received the packages thought they were gifts sent by an old colleague from another police station to celebrate something personal.

It wasn't until the first female police officer who signed and opened a package let out a scream and fainted on the spot.

Upon hearing the news, Captain Lewis quickly summoned all police officers in the bureau to collect the packages.

They wore uniform gloves and placed all the pieces in the boxes neatly.

The foul and rotten smell instantly filled the room, causing some rookie police officers to vomit continuously in a corner.

Meanwhile, my soul floated aside, feeling bad for them.

Experienced Captain Lewis immediately checked the surveillance footage from the deliveryman.

However, the footage showed a skinny deliveryman with no exposed skin, making it impossible to find any clues.

When he called the delivery company, he was told that no vehicles had been dispatched to the police station that day.

When my brother arrived, only Captain Lewis was left in the room, persistently searching for clues.

Upon seeing my brother, Captain Lewis couldn't help but feel hopeful.

My brother became a forensic doctor due to an old wrist injury left during an unsolved case eight years ago.

Everyone admired his perseverance, and he even self-studied criminal psychology.

But every time he encountered a case of dismemberment, he would go blank physiologically.

Looking at the mutilated body, my brother's hand holding the pen trembled, cold sweat dripping from his skin, and his lips turned pale.

"It has been a long time since I saw such extreme revenge...

"There is not a single piece of skin on the bones that I can identify. All I can tell is that it is a young woman who never gave birth.

"When the bones were broken one by one, the victim was still breathing."

Watching my brother's pallid face, Captain Lewis gradually lost hope.

Although my brother's expertise in forensics and criminal psychology was self-taught, he became one of the top talents in the state.

He had never made a mistake in his assessments of cases over the years.

My brother carefully observed every bone. Sweat constantly dripped from his face, but he wiped away hastily with a corner of his clothes.

Then he sat down, intending to reconstruct the killer's mindset. However, he hesitated to write.

Every inch of the body had the same horrific appearance, and he couldn't discern the order of dismemberment or the motive for revenge.

Captain Lewis couldn't help but speak up from the side, "It's... so similar..."

"To the unsolved case eight years ago."

My brother finished his sentence, and both of them fell silent.

The suspect in that case remains a mystery even now, and my brother has almost collapsed during the past eight years of struggling for the case.

The next moment, he immediately dialed my phone number.

But I was already a body, unable to answer him.

The phone kept ringing, and with each ring, my brother's patience faded.

"Where the hell did she go again? Does she think I can't solve this case without her? Who does she think she is!"

Usually, I would always answer my brother's calls as soon as possible.

Perhaps because this case was too difficult, my brother became frustrated, and his voice carried undisguised resentment.

Captain Lewis walked around the body several times in confusion, pointing to the left hand.

"Is there a missing finger here?"

His words made me nervous immediately.

My brother's gaze also fell on the left hand of the body.

One of the bony, tiny fingers was attached to a portion of muscle tissue. No matter how we counted, there were only four fingers on the hand.

"The broken part of this bone must have been chopped off before she died."

I stood next to the body, anxious to tell them the truth. But no matter how much I shouted, no one could hear me.

"This is the clue you wanted! This is the evidence I left by enduring the pain of losing my finger!"

But my brother just glanced at it expressionlessly, wrote down the information, and left.

In the conference room, a team of ten experienced detectives formed a task force.

After drinking a strong cup of coffee, my brother began to explain the autopsy results.

However, when it came to the criminal psychology of the killer, he started sweating profusely and couldn't utter a word.

For a full ten minutes, everyone looked at him with encouraging eyes.

In the end, Captain Lewis sighed and spoke up,

"Forget it, Harry. It's been eight years, and there's no need to rush now. This kind of inhumane beast may not have any psychological motive. It's not easy to figure it out."

My brother closed his eyes in despair.
