Chapter 3

Once again, I refused him. “I’m not feeling well.”

After being turned down repeatedly, Henry’s expression darkened.

“Sienna, don’t come begging me later,” he snapped.

Finally, he let go of my hand, his face cold as he stormed into the bathroom to "resolve things" on his own.

That night, I couldn’t sleep. My thoughts raced endlessly.

The next morning, a knock at the door disrupted the silence.

Henry went to open it.

Standing at the door was none other than Sienna. He froze, completely stunned.

Sienna walked in as if it were her own home, casually saying, “Henry, why wasn’t the spare key under the doormat? I had to knock on the door.”

Then, with a playful smirk, she added, “I heard that old hag isn’t home, so I came to see you specifically.”

At her words, Henry tensed immediately. His gaze darted nervously between Sienna and me, who had just stepped out of the bedroom.

Sienna also noticed me. Her face turned pale, her nervousness written all over it.

“Lianna, I... I didn’t mean to—”

Before she could finish, Henry cut her off hastily. “Lianna, why are you back so early?”

Sienna looked completely confused.

Henry, however, continued his frantic explanations. “You should’ve told me you were coming back so I could have picked you up! Sienna is here today because she needed help with her calculus homework, that’s all.”

He even shot me a look, as if seeking my cooperation. “Right, Sienna?”

I stared at him, unmoving and silent.

Realizing something was off, Sienna’s eyes gleamed with shrewdness. She quickly adjusted her expression and played along.

“Surprise!” she said cheerfully, slipping her arm around Henry’s like a devoted wife.

Her demeanor screamed familiarity, as if she had been in this position forever. She didn’t deny the identity he thrust upon her; instead, she embraced it wholeheartedly.

Seeing her reaction, Henry visibly relaxed. He then glanced at me coldly.

“What are you standing there for? Go back to school.”

Sienna chimed in, pretending to be kind. “It’s too late now. Let Sienna stay in the guest room for the night.”

Her words settled the matter. Henry didn’t object, possibly out of guilt.

That night, he was unusually attentive to Sienna, even offering to wash her feet. He knelt by her side, tending to her like a servant.

Sienna reveled in the treatment, smirking at me with undisguised provocation.

When Henry finished and went to the bathroom to clean the basin, he brushed past me, lowering his voice to issue a warning. “Stay put tonight and don’t expose anything. If Lianna finds out, this ends between us.”

His words were like a dagger, cold and final.

After he left, Sienna looked at me smugly. “Looks like you’ll have to start calling me Mrs. Scott now. How does it feel? Does your heart ache watching him treat me like this?”

Her triumphant expression didn’t faze me. Instead, I responded calmly, “What do you think will happen if Henry regains his memory and realizes you’ve been lying to him?”

For a moment, panic flickered in her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure. Gritting her teeth, she spat, “As long as I’m around, he’ll never recover his memory!”

Right then, Henry returned. Sienna instantly shifted her expression, becoming demure and sweet.

In the days that followed, I stayed at the house.

I didn’t go back to school, as there was no reason to.

Sienna, determined to humiliate me, didn’t chase me away.

Henry, as always, followed her lead.

During the day, I watched as Sienna clumsily imitated my mannerisms, trying to keep up the act. Her awkward performance amused me to no end.

At night, I lay in the guest room, listening to the deafening sounds from the master bedroom—creaking bed frames and Sienna’s exaggerated moans echoing through the walls.

I felt nothing.

Instead, I silently counted down the days until I could leave for good.
