After tragically succumbing to cervical cancer, I discovered the ultimate betrayal: my husband had cashed in my life insurance policy to finance a lavish wedding with my best friend. While I was reduced to ashes, they built a happy life on my grave. But fate grants me a second chance. Reborn into the past, I refuse to seek direct revenge. Instead, I step back and watch as their greed and secrets tear them apart, culminating in a blood-soaked confrontation where my former bestie wields a knife.

Betrayed by Bestie, I Gifted Them a Wedding Chapter 1

I died from cervical cancer.

My husband had long since bought me life insurance and used the compensation for my death to marry my best friend.

After my death, I became nothing but ashes in the dust, but he married another woman and lived a happy life.

Unexpectedly, I was born again.

I stood by and watched as my best friend and my husband fought each other. My best friend roared with a knife in her hand, "Go to hell!"

My husband curled up and fainted.

My best friend committed suicide in prison with resentment.

All this was my elaborate secret scheme to revenge myself on them. My husband was reduced to a total wreck, but he still begged me for mercy and even said "thank you" to me.

"What a good wife you are. You gave me such a huge fortune even after you died. Hahahaha..."

Channing's wicked laughter echoed in my ears, filling my heart with resentment and hatred.

I opened my eyes with overwhelming bitterness, but I was bewildered by what I saw.

"Are you awake?" As soon as I opened my eyes, the back of a young doctor came into view.

"Eh, where am I?" I propped myself up and sat up.

"Have you forgotten? You came with the other staff members of your company for a physical examination, but you then fell asleep. You have already slept for several hours..."

"A physical examination?" I asked in secret delight. Could it be that I was reborn?

I quickly looked at the ring finger of my left hand, only to see it was bare.

It turned out that I hadn't married that scumbag yet. "God bless me..." I thought to myself.

I couldn't help but snort with laughter.

The young male doctor turned around. At the sight of his face, I was overjoyed.

"You're Felix Lynch, my senior alumni... Why are you here?"

"I'm here to give you the next check-up," Felix said seriously.

I quickly looked at the check-up chart and murmured, "The next examination is a TCT and HPV test..."

My voice got weaker and weaker.

Felix said with a serious look, "Lie down. I'm a skilled gynecologist."

2

I felt my face began to burn. I wanted to run away, for it was too embarrassing.

But Felix said in a determined tone, "Do you still not trust in my professionalism?"

I shook my head vigorously.

"You can treat me as a stranger if you feel awkward to be examined by an acquaintance."

I bit the bullet and lay down. I had already died once, so what was there to be afraid of anymore?

In such an embarrassing situation, as long as I acted naturally, I wouldn't be embarrassed.

I lay down with determination.

"Okay, you can come down."

I lowered my head and said, "Felix, will the examination results of our company's staff be released together? Can I come and get them all later?"

"Sure. I'll tell you when the reports come out."

"Okay, thanks."

I fled out.

At the thought of the truth I saw and heard after I died in my last incarnation, I clenched my fists.

"Channing Yates, Mandy Lenton, just you wait."

3

Just as I arrived at the company, I saw Channing and Mandy chatting intimately in the break room.

It turned out that they had been entangled with each other so early while I was kept in the dark like a fool before.

"Good. Very good."

I sneered in my heart, making up my mind to let them pay for what they did.

Mandy, who used to be my best friend, was beautiful and good at flattery, so she was in favor with our superiors.

She always paid lip service to her work but was incompetent in reality.

By contrast, I would act without unnecessary talk, but I was often unpopular with leaders in the company because of my bluntness.

Since Mandy was so inclined to be in the limelight, I might as well fulfill her wish.

Mandy said with a cute smile, "Yvonne, why did you come back so late? Channing and I were just about to look for you. But you know, I've been too busy here. You won't blame me, will you?"

I said with a gentle smile in return, "How would I do that? I know you've been busy with your work in the company lately, so how can I blame you?"

"Right, that's good. By the way, leave the previous project in my charge. The manager asked me to take it over."

Sure enough, she came directly to rob me of my project, just like in my previous life. Now that she wanted it, I didn't mind giving it to her.

"Okay, I'll sort out the information and hand it over to you. Please work hard on the follow-up to it."

Mandy pouted and nodded cutely, which only disgusted me.

As she walked past me, I caught a glimpse of an evil smile on her lips.

However, what she didn't know was that I was the only one who could handle this project. Anyone else would only fail in the attempt to negotiate with the client for it.

4

"Hello, the examination reports are out. You can come and get them."

Felix said in a magnetic voice.

"Okay, Felix, thank you. I'll be there soon."

I turned around and saw Mandy's seat. It was empty.

"Channing, where is Mandy?"

Channing looked impatient.

"Oh, she said she was going to the hospital."

I felt my heart skipped a beat.

Now I realized it should have been Mandy and Channing who were in cahoots against me in my previous incarnation, for it was Mandy who went to get the test results when I was not in the company on this day.

No, I must not allow Mandy to get the test reports, or all my plans would be ruined.

In anxiety, I said to myself in my heart, "Calm down." As an idea occurred to me, I made a phone call.

5

"Hello, Felix. I want to ask you a favor."

Eager to go straight to the point, I sounded a bit rude.

"Speak your mind."

I told Felix to help me keep the examination reports of mine and Channing's.

Felix seemed to have expected this and soon agreed.

I kept thanking him, at a loss for what to say.

"If you do want to thank me, well, I haven't had lunch yet."

"Then, give me a chance to treat you to a meal. What do you want to eat for lunch?"

I said readily.

"Let's have grilled fish."

I hesitated for a moment but soon agreed.

In truth, grilled fish was my favorite.

6

"Felix, do you like grilled fish too?"

Felix seemed to have changed to another person. He no longer looked serious but gentle instead. He was very different from how he usually was in the hospital.

"Yeah, I like it very much. Most importantly, the person I have feelings for likes grilled fish."

Hearing this, I unconsciously dropped my cutlery.

I neither wanted to be sentimental nor be troubled by unnecessary feelings.

All I wanted at this moment was revenge, which was the only word in my mind.

"By the way, Felix, can you give me the check-up reports now?"

"Sure." Felix took out a stack of sheets from his bag and handed it to me.

I took the reports over, feeling a little nervous and excited.

I checked my report. Fortunately, there were just a few minor problems.

But the instant I turned to the page about Channing, my eyes lit up.

As expected, Channing was carrying HPV viruses.

7

I could hardly restrain the surge of joy in my heart.

"You look happy, so eat more!" Felix said.

I looked up and met Felix's gentle eyes.

"Yes, I'm quite happy," I replied as I involuntarily smiled.

"I'm happy too. I read your report without your permission and found everything is fine. It's just that you need to exercise more.

"Don't stay up late, and remember to drink more water..."

I felt warmth in my heart as I listened to Felix's suggestions.

"Okay, I understand, Felix. By the way, can you keep the results of the reports confidential for me? Don't tell anyone else."

Felix just looked at me gently and nodded without asking me anything.

The tenderness in his eyes was unconcealed.

"Yvonne, do you know? I have always regretted not telling you earlier. To be honest, I..."

"No way. Is Felix going to confess his love to me?" I thought.

But I had no interest in getting into a relationship. I only wanted to focus on my career and send those two bastards to hell.

Just when I was at a loss how to respond, my phone rang.

8

"Yvonne, please come back right now. Mandy encountered some problems when she dealt with your previous project. Come back and explain it."

Channing sounded very anxious for Mandy.

He seemed to have never cared about me this much before. However, I only had calmness in my heart, feeling that the affection I used to have for him wasn't worth it.

"She has already taken over charge of that project. I'm afraid it wouldn't be appropriate for me to meddle in. I still have something else to do. Bye."

I could faintly hear Mandy's sobs come from the other end of the phone, but I only felt disgusted.

I hung up the phone directly with pleasure.

As soon as I sat down, I could tell from Felix's look that he seemed unhappy, but I had no idea how I had upset him.

Felix looked a little irritated as he asked, "Who's the caller?"

I didn't know why, but I felt uneasy when I answered, "It's Channing Yates."

"Can you promise me one thing? Don't be together with him. Do you know he will kill you?"

Felix's tone was firm. As I looked up at him in disbelief, he seemed to realize that he had said something wrong.

Felix dropped his gaze helplessly.

"If you insist on being together with him, learn some self-defense skills from me. They might come in handy."

Felix fixed his determined eyes on me and stopped talking.

"Felix, Channing is indeed my boyfriend now.

"But don't worry, I'll protect myself. Then I'll have to bother you, Felix.

"By the way, Channing should be getting married soon."

Felix abruptly looked up. I could his bright eyes slowly darken. It seemed he was in distress.

I didn't know why, but my heart ached at the sight of this. I hurriedly explained, "I mean, Channing will marry Mandy soon."

Felix's eyes seemed to light up again in an instant.

We stared at each other and smiled.

After lunch, I returned to the company, only to feel the atmosphere in the company was weird.

9

"Yvonne, why did you come back so late? You said before that the project had been finalized and had come to the signing part. But why did Mandy get scolded by the client when she went to sign the contract?"

I had just sat down in my office chair when Channing stormed over to grab me and started to accuse me harshly.

I slapped his hand away mercilessly and sneered.

"Are you questioning me on behalf of Mandy? Channing, what's your position?

"You care about her so much. Those who didn't know about our relationship would think you were her boyfriend instead."

Realizing that he had indeed gone too far, Channing hurriedly explained, "No, what I meant is that you didn't have to lie before. If the agreement on this project couldn't be signed, you could have just told the truth."

Before I could say anything, Mandy sobbed innocently, "That's right, Yvonne, you should have told the truth. You shouldn't have lied to all of us and declared that the contract could be signed right away.

"I got scolded harshly as soon as I arrived. They were very dissatisfied with us, let alone willing to sign the agreement..."

I said with a cold snort, "Channing, I don't get why you came to question me and speak up for Mandy without any hesitation. When did the two of you become so close?"

Mandy instantly flushed red.

Channing by her side also looked distinctly uncomfortable, as if his secrets had been exposed.

I changed the topic and said, "But I have to say it's strange. I had a good talk with the client, so we agreed that we would sign the contract the next time we met.

"I'm also very confused. So, Mandy, what did you do to lead to the client's dissatisfaction with us?"

There were discussions among the colleagues as they all looked at Mandy.

"I heard that Mandy has been so immoral as to have an affair with our manager, Mr. Lee. And now, she's fooling around with Yvonne's boyfriend at the same time..."

"That's right, I heard about it too. Yvonne has been in charge of this project since the very beginning and is about to finalize it by signing the contract. But whoever signs it will get the commission and might get a promotion. I don't know why Mandy was given the chance to sign it, but she even failed in such an easy task..."

Mandy gave me a dirty look before she squatted on the ground and started crying.

She looked as if I had bullied her.

Everyone present looked at each other in perplexity, not knowing why Mandy was crying.

I looked down at her and asked in a gentle voice, "Mandy, why are you crying?"

The colleagues around also whispered, "That's right. I don't know why she still has the nerve to cry..."

"Does she think we'll consider her the right one as long as she cries? How shameless she is."

10

Mr. Lee called me to his office and asked me whether I could win back this deal. I said it was a tricky business.

However, I claimed it was not impossible and mentioned that the company was about to promote an employee to deputy manager.

Mr. Lee took the hint and promised that whoever closed the deal would get the position of deputy manager.

I hastened to say that I would try my best, but I could not guarantee success.

After getting off work, I went shopping.

Channing told me he had to keep Mandy company because she was sad today.

I not only expressed my understanding but also cooked several delicious dishes and bought a few bottles of wine for them.

I saw Channing supporting Mandy attentively before they came upstairs. The two of them were as intimate as a couple in love.

I had a faint smile and took out the thing in my bag.
