Chapter 1

Because my pregnant wife felt so much pain in her abdomen, I hurriedly sent her to the hospital.

After I completed the admission procedure, the doctor stopped me and reprimanded me.

"Even after her first three months of pregnancy, you still need to be careful!

  "Also, be gentle!"

I, who had just returned from a business trip, felt a chill run down my spine.

When I got off the plane and got home, I saw that my wife, Jocelyn Daly, curled up on the sofa and was covered in cold sweat.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Jocelyn called me weakly.

"Honey, is that you? My stomach hurts so much! Why did you come back so late?"

I was so worried that I even forgot to change my shoes and quickly ran to the sofa.

Jocelyn felt so much pain in her abdomen that her face was extremely pale.

Seeing Jocelyn's situation, I was so worried.

  I dialed 911 immediately.

While waiting for the ambulance, I poured a glass of warm water and helped Jocelyn drink it slowly.

Then, I asked her, "Honey, where's Mom?"

I had been on a business trip for half a month. I was afraid that Jocelyn would feel lonely at home, so I specially asked Jocelyn's mother, Bonita Bonner, to come and take care of her.

But now, Bonita was not at home.

The table was full of takeout bags and other trash.

After hearing my question, Jocelyn suddenly felt wronged and burst into tears.

She replied, "My stepfather accidentally broke his legs, so my mom had to go back."

Hearing this, I held Jocelyn tightly in my arms and tried to comfort her.

"Honey, I'm so sorry. I won't leave you again. In the future, I'll stay with you and our baby every day.

  "It's OK. I'm here."

  Fortunately, the ambulance arrived soon.

The doctor gave Jocelyn oxygen and relieved her abdominal pain.

After we arrived at the hospital, the doctor did a check-up for Jocelyn. When it was confirmed that both Jocelyn and the baby were fine, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The doctor suggested that Jocelyn should stay in the hospital for a few days for observation since she had a miscarriage before. I agreed without any hesitation.

This was my first baby with Jocelyn, so I cherish it very much.

Later, the nurse took Jocelyn to the ward, and I stayed in the office and waited for the doctor to give me the hospitalization notice.

The doctor said to me, "Young man, I know you're young and energetic, but you have to control yourself!"

  I was confused.

Seeing my confused look, the doctor continued, "Well.

"Even after her first three months of pregnancy, you still need to be careful!"

  "What do you mean?"

But right after I asked that, I realized what the doctor meant.

The doctor looked at my muscles meaningfully.

  "Also, be gentle!" she added.

I suddenly felt a chill run down my spine.

At the same time, I felt very embarrassed, and my face seemed to have turned red.

  It was just too embarrassing!

Thinking that I hadn't been at home for half a month, I understood something.

Then, I asked the doctor in a low voice, "Well.

"Do you think my wife can't do it alone?"

The female doctor stopped writing and pursed her lips tightly.

"Just admit what you've done and be a man! What's there to be embarrassed about? Don't put the blame on your wife!

"Even during her pregnancy, you have to take protective measures to reduce the risk of miscarriage."

I was not that stupid, so I immediately knew what it meant.

Then, I left the doctor's office and went to Jocelyn's ward in a daze.

After experiencing all the things that happened tonight, Jocelyn had already been very sleepy and fell into a deep sleep on the hospital bed.

Jocelyn had a slight insomnia during her pregnancy, and this was the first time she had fallen asleep so quickly.

I couldn't help but wonder why she was so sleepy tonight.

The loose hospital gown revealed Jocelyn's fair skin.

  I habitually tucked her in.

However, she seemed to be dissatisfied with my interruption and turned her body.

This time, I could clearly see the red marks on Jocelyn's chest!

I couldn't help wondering, Did she really cheat on me?

  Just before I got home?

If I didn't send her messages when I got off the plane and went straight home, would I be able to catch her secret lover on the spot?

The red marks overlapped with one another on Jocelyn's body.

Jocelyn's breasts, which were particularly plump because of her pregnancy, were extremely eye-catching to me.

Obviously, those were not done in one night.

Some of those marks had faded quite a bit.

I suddenly thought that maybe it was because Jocelyn was allergic again and got those marks by scratching herself.

I remembered that Jocelyn's skin had turned red before because of an allergy, so I turned on my phone and searched for some information.

I saw that some pregnant women would indeed have rashes on their chests during their pregnancies.

Then, I suppressed my wild thoughts again.

In order to come back early to accompany Jocelyn, I worked day and night in New York for three days and hadn't even rested.

But now, looking at the sleeping Jocelyn on the bed, I didn't feel sleepy at all.
