Battling for Love and Winning

I was leaving with my luggage.

Andrew finally noticed that something was wrong with me and stopped me.

"What's wrong with you? Is Sarah dissatisfied with what happened that day? When Katie gets better, I will go explain to Sarah."

It didn't make sense anymore.

I pried his hand away. "No need!"

Katie pouted and rolled her eyes impatiently. "Andrew, why explain? They are just making a fuss out of nothing. Sarah is so good at making trouble. I think they are just trying to control you on purpose. Don't be fooled."

I was shocked.

Originally, I didn't want to hold a grudge against Katie, even though she and Andrew were both indirect murderers of Sarah.

But Sarah was dead. Katie was still saying bad things about Sarah.

I was provoked that I completely lost my mind. By the time I reacted, I had already slapped Katie in the face.

As it happened suddenly, Andrew and Katie had no time to react.

Katie was stunned, then she cried. "Andrew, I've never been hit in my whole life. Please help me."

I used all my strength to slap Katie. Her fair and tender cheeks were already swollen.

Andrew's expression suddenly turned gloomy. "Monica, apologize!"

I was not frightened by him, and said obstinately, "Unless she apologizes to my mom first!"

Katie cried even harder after hearing this. "Andrew, look. What did I say wrong just now? If you hadn't begged Andrew that day, he would never have gone to pick up your mother. You should blame yourself for this."

It was indeed me who asked Andrew to go that day.

Sarah came from her hometown just to see how I was doing here and to see my boyfriend whom I often mentioned on the phone.

In order to reassure her, and also out of selfish reasons I wanted her to meet Andrew, I begged him for a long time before he agreed to go to the airport with me.

But as soon as I arrived at the airport, I received a call from my leader saying that something had happened at work and asked me to go back to deal with it.

I could only hand Sarah to him and let him take her to the hotel first.

But I never thought that Andrew would abandon her on the highway halfway.

That day I lost the only family I had in this world.

Andrew gave me a warning glare when he saw how stubborn I was. "Monica, don't make me say it again. Apologize to Katie."

I refused to admit my mistake. "What if I don't?"

Andrew sneered, "Then don't apologize!"

Before I could understand what he meant, Andrew raised his hand and slapped me.

My face was hurt, but my heart hurt more.

This was the first time Andrew hit me.

"You slapped Katie, so I slapped you. We're even!"

I tilted my head and just happened to see Katie's smug look.

For Katie, I wouldn't be surprised no matter what he did.

I just looked at him calmly. "Then can I go?"

Andrew was irritated by my attitude.

He said coldly, "Monica, I gave you a chance. I was thinking of going with you to meet your mother in a few days, but now it seems unnecessary."

I had bottled up all day's emotions, and now they burst out.

I collapsed and yelled at him, "Andrew, Sarah is dead!"
