Chapter 2

Lycia’s POV

I almost laughed hollowly. Who needs forgiveness from him? I think he’s the one who should be begging for mercy.

“After all, she’s your twin sister.” His words crept coldly into my wolf. “Don’t act like a child. You're Luna now. An adult. Irene isn’t to blame. Today is your birthday too, but she deserves it more.”

I stared at him for a long time. Searching for the remnants of the bond we once shared. The brown eyes I once loved so much now felt foreign.

“You’re joking, right?” I laughed hollowly. “I mean, you chose to celebrate another female wolf's birthday instead of your mate’s?”

“Yes,” he replied without hesitation. “Because you’re a rebel. Irene is innocent.”

I clapped my hands. “Wow, my wolf is now wondering—is this still the man who chased me for five years with his obsession?”

He fell silent. Beginning to realize my words.

“You’ve changed. Or maybe you never truly loved me.” My emotions overflowed.

"Be honest, did you just use me as a temporary replacement when you were bored?"

My heart ached seeing him silent, as if what I said was true. Tears streamed down my face.

And Ravien saw it—felt our connection. His face softened, briefly showing regret.

“Lycia, don’t cry—”

But his words were cut off by a scream outside the car. That voice… Irene.

Ravien’s face panicked. In an instant, he pushed open the door and ran. Leaving me behind so easily. Without a second thought.

“What’s wrong, Irene?”

“I stepped on a rock. My foot got caught.”

Always careless and weak.

Through the glass, I laughed—a small, bitter laugh. But what hurt more was his reaction. Ravien held her like a precious porcelain figurine. Lifting her body frantically.

“You can't get hurt. Your party tonight.”

Then, in his arms, Irene turned her head. A small smile curved on her lips—not sweet, but mocking.

I wanted to vomit. To disappear.

Once, I trusted them. Now, the two wolf I relied on most had stabbed me deepest.

I went my room. Packed everything. Wanted to throw away everything Ravien had given me. But one thing I couldn’t delay: the moon necklace Ravien had gently placed around my neck, kissing me softly above the engraved stone of love.

The moment I once considered the most memorable—he swore he’d give me a gift when I was pregnant, a trip to my favorite place.

Now, just thinking about it makes my heart burn.

That’s why I’ll bring it to Irene's party tonight. To throw it into the sea.

And night came sooner than expected. Irene's party was held on a luxurious ship. Lights. Elite decorations. Everything truly amazed me. But something else stopped me in my tracks.

A large, tiered birthday cake—my favorite pink color with expensive carvings. I heard my parents prepared everything.

This should have been my birthday too. We’re twins. But I didn’t see any of the wolves caring about that. Everything was for Irene. I’m used to not celebrating. But seeing the cake with “Celebrate Irene’s Sweet Birthday” written on it, I felt weak.

My wolf howled. “We’ve always wanted a cake since we were little. But Mom and Dad never cared. Now look at Selena, who always gets a birthday cake every year, and this is the best one yet.”

I closed my eyes, trying to calm my wolf so it wouldn’t rage at the party. Because it wouldn’t matter.

“Happy birthday, twin sister.” Irene’s sweet voice crept in from behind. Poison in every word.

I turned. Stared at her without feeling.

“Why does the party feel like it's just mine?” She laughed softly, then spun around, showing off herself. “What about my dress, my face?”

Honestly, she was stunning. I couldn't lie; all the wolves had worked hard to make her shine tonight. While I stood in my plain dress—one I bought myself.

I didn’t answer. There were no words for Irene. I walked past her. But my steps were halted by a loud noise. Irene’s scream.

I turned around immediately.

A large cake had crashed to the floor—cream was smeared all over Irene’s dress. She was crying.

All the wolves scattered.

Ravien was the first to reach her.

“Irene! What happened?! Your dress... the cake!”

With tears streaming down her face, Irene pointed at me. “Lycia wanted her name written on the cake too.” Her face was innocent and pitiful. “So she pushed me toward the cake.”

My eyes widened.

“Excuse me?” I shook my head. “I didn't even do anything, please!”

But no wolf was listening.

An omega said softly, "Earlier, I also saw Luna Lycia staring at her cake for a long time."

The wolves' gazes began to shift. They were cornering me.

And Ravien... his eyes darkened. His breath was heavy. His wolf aura rose, wild and boiling.

His steps thundered closer—toward me.

“I told you to stop acting like a child, Lycia!” he barked, his voice echoing before the entire wolf pack. “You've ruined the party twice!”

I stood frozen, unsure of what sin I had committed this time. But it felt as though I had burned down the entire party, dragged and humiliated. As though I wasn't Luna. Not anyone.

Trembling, I tried to explain the truth, “It wasn't me,” hoping someone—or even one wolf—would believe me.

But no wolf did.

Even as my tears fell and I tried to connect my wolf's heart with Ravien's—he rejected it. Cut it off. Sealed the bridge of our bond without a word.

His face was cold. Untouchable.

“I think yesterday's incident was lesson enough,” he muttered sharply, while Irene’s whiny cries grew louder. “This party was prepared entirely by the pack. But you? You chose to ruin it.”

His hand gripped my arm.

I was shocked. But I couldn't fight back. His strength was unmatched. “Alpha, you've known me for five years. There's no way I would do something sneaky!”

He dragged me to the outer deck. I was panicking. The pack followed and surrounded us.

“After this, learn your lesson!”

And without mercy—he pushed me. My body was thrown into the cold, dark sea.

The water swallowed my body, and I shivered in silence. I couldn't swim. But no one wolf cared.

From the surface of the water, I saw them—my parents coming. There was no worry on their faces, only annoyance. “She never stops causing trouble.”

I thought I still had a chance to ask for their love. At least they didn’t want to see me die. “Dad, Mom! You guys know I can’t swim!”

But I was wrong. They ignored me. My father’s hands were busy fixing Irene’s hair, which had been covered in cake frosting, while my mother lovingly cleaned her dress.

“Your party will be fine, Irene,” Alpha Ravien said before all the wolves left me alone.

My wolf weakening. But there was something more painful than the water filling my lungs—the cramps in my stomach. The pain was burning.

The world spun slowly. Then everything went dark. My consciousness collapsed along with my last hope.
