After the Divorce, He Cried and Begged for Remarriage
Chapter 4
In the next few days, I immersed myself in work and was very fulfilling.
James took the initiative to call me which was rare.
"Chole, are you angry with me?"
I was confused and didn't understand what he was talking about.
"No."
James heard a bit stubborn, "You are angry with me. You haven't called me for three days. It was my fault that I broke my promise that rainy day, but I was really too tired. If you feel uncomfortable, then I apologize to you."
"Sorry, it's all my fault."
He said in a superior tone. After a busy day, I didn't bother to argue with him.
"Well, I know. If there's nothing else, I'll hang up first."
"Wait! I'm downstairs at your company. Come down and let's have a meal together."
I still had some work to deal with. It was already half an hour later when I finished my work and got down.
Opening the door of the passenger seat, I found that Fiona was also there.
She dressed up pure and lovely. When she saw me, she smiled sweetly.
"Chole, I'm a bit carsick. Do you mind if I sit in the front?"
James darkened his face and didn't say a word. I thought he must be angry for waiting for me for half an hour.
"It's okay. You can sit."
I opened the back door and got in.
During the meal, Fiona served James food as if there was no one else around. From time to time, she even gave me a provocative look.
I pretended not to see and just focused on eating.
I had been working all day and I was quite hungry.
The editor-in-chief said that I did a good job on this project and the boss was very satisfied. Maybe I would get a promotion and a raise. Just thinking about this, I felt relieved.
Suddenly, James dropped his fork with a loud sound.
"I'm full." He said.
After saying that, he grabbed his coat and angrily stood up, and Fiona quickly followed.
When I went out, they were already gone.
So, once again, I was left on the street.
