After the Death of His Son, the Truth Revealed
Chapter 4
"Julie! What happened to you?"
Ethan insisted on calling an ambulance to take me to the hospital.
I just wanted to go to the crematorium.
I supported my overly fatigued body to break away from Ethan and took a taxi to the crematorium alone.
By the time I got to the crematorium, I found Zachary's body was casually placed aside.
However, the white pet dog that Kayla kept had stopped breathing, and it was placed respectfully on a shelf in the crematorium, with a white sheet cushioning it underneath.
"Did this dog take Zachary's place?"
I was furious, and I rushed up and threw the dog's body aside.
Kayla screamed and rushed over. "Don't touch Zach."
Kayla clung to the dead dog and stared at me resentfully.
Ethan comforted Kayla with concern. As he looked at me again, he frowned, "Julie, why did you go so far today? Kayla didn't offend you, but why are you always targeting her?
"Zachary is alone in the hospital. Why do you keep following us instead of staying with him?
"You're his mother, but you're so careless. If you keep this up, I'm really going to have to take Zachary away from you."
With that, Ethan dialed Mark's number as if he was trying to punish me on purpose.
"Mark, you don't have to give Zachary the toy I asked you to buy this afternoon. Go to the hospital and take Zachary away!"
Ethan looked at me threateningly.
But the next second, Mark was silent for a moment, his voice husky.
"Mr. Sinclair, Zachary is not in the hospital."
Ethan was stunned. "What do you mean?"
Mark continued, "He died in a car accident just five minutes after you left the day you took him to the hospital."
