After the Cruel Marriage Broke Up
Chapter 3
If Vincent had listened to the voice message I sent him, he would have known that I told him that I was sick that morning.
But he habitually ignored my messages and would never listen to my voice messages.
When I had a fever, I was still hoping that he would drop everything and come back to stay with me like he used to do, or at least say some words of concern.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get any reply from him. I missed his call because I fell asleep, which led to Jenny’s death while delivering medicine for him.
"Sandy, this is the apology gift I bought for you. Why are you so ungrateful?
"My patience is limited. Don't push me too far!"
Vincent stood up and kicked the broken bracelet away angrily.
I knew this bracelet was one of the goods that Vivian purchased in bulk for him to give to customers.
The bracelet on Vivian's hand, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, was the gift he carefully selected.
A woman could tell whether a man loved her or not by the money he spent on her.
I smiled to myself at the broken bracelet.
"Let's get a divorce now."
Vincent was annoyed with me for breaking the bracelet, and when he heard about the divorce, he became even angrier.
"Sandy, am I too good-tempered, so you challenge my bottom line again and again?
"When I heard that you were sick, I turned down all the clients just to come back and apologize to you, but you treat me like this?
"I shouldn't have spoiled you. You deserve to be sick. It seems that the rainstorm that day didn't calm you down."
After saying that, he slammed the door and left angrily.
He didn't go home for three days. Why did he think that I should forgive him just because he gave a worthless gift and apologized to me?
In the past, when we quarreled over Vivian, he would slam the door and leave, leaving me alone to calm down.
When I was heartbroken and thinking about divorce, Jenny would protect me and comfort me. She begged me to understand Vincent because it was hard for him to work outside.
I loved Vincent and Jenny, so I could digest all the unhappiness by myself without Vincent doing anything, and then make peace with him again.
But only I knew that every quarrel made us farther and farther apart.
I didn't mention divorce because I was afraid that Jenny would be sad.
Now that Jenny died, it was time for me to end my relationship with Vincent.
I originally wanted to wait for him to come home to discuss the divorce because I wanted to end our marriage in a decent way.
But now it seemed that it was impossible for us to do that.
After I sent the divorce agreement that I had signed to his company, I packed my luggage and left.
I took Jenny's ashes back to her hometown. She said that if she passed away one day, she didn't want a funeral but just wanted to be buried together with his husband.
I signed a contract with a cemetery agency and chose a day to bury her.
I never expected that Jenny, who was going to come back to visit her husband, would come back to accompany him in this way.
Just as I placed Jenny's urn next to her husband, Vincent hurried over with Vivian.
Seeing that his father's grave had been dug up, he searched around and asked me viciously, "Where's my mom? Who allowed you to dig up my dad's grave?"
I pointed to the urn in the cemetery and said in a hoarse voice, "You think of your mother now?"
Taking a look at the two urns in the cemetery, Vincent scolded me with a dark face, "Sandy, give Vivian's ID card back to her. Why did you ask my mom to break into Vivian's house and take her ID card away? My mom treated you so well, but you tricked her into doing something bad and now you're digging up my dad's grave. Are you still a human?
"My family has never done anything wrong to you. Why are you so heartless?"
