After Our Son Lost His Memory, My Wife Collapsed
Chapter 2
That day we were invited to participate in a parent-child variety show.
But there was an accident, a masked man who appeared out of nowhere kidnapped Roger and Lucas.
"Have you made up your mind, Mrs. Harris?"
The man's voice was hoarse and unpleasant, holding a gun in his hand, and pointing at the two children with their heads covered.
"You can only choose one."
I recognized my son Roger, who was constantly crying.
But Melissa hesitated.
I took a step forward to hold Melissa's hand and pointed to the child on the right, "That's our Roger! Melissa, choose Roger!"
But Melissa looked at me suspiciously and asked, "How do you know that's Roger?"
I was angry and anxious. If it weren't for the kidnapper's demand for Melissa to make the choice, I would have chosen myself long ago.
At this moment, Melissa looked at the other crying child and said, "I think that's him. Look at how loudly he's crying."
But I recognized that child. Wasn't he Lucas, Melissa's first love's child?
I felt a chill all over my body.
I stood there, watching Lucas being rescued, and watching Melissa burst into tears of joy.
And my son Roger, with a gunshot, lay in a pool of blood.
"Roger..."
I woke up suddenly and found myself in the ward, immediately wanting to get out of bed to find Roger.
But I found that I couldn't use my legs and knelt directly on the ground.
It turned out that the kidnapper had injured my calf in the end.
"Don't move." Melissa stopped me at the door, turned to Kenny behind her, and said, "Harry, help him up quickly."
Kenny helped me back to the bed.
Melissa said, "Roger is fine, don't worry."
Kenny continued, "Yes, the doctor said he was just scared and fell into a brief coma."
I looked at them coldly, and asked directly without mercy, "Melissa, why didn't you choose Roger?"
Melissa looked embarrassed and said, "I, I thought the other child was Roger..."
She looked at Kenny for help.
Kenny immediately took over the conversation, "Mr. Harris, now that both children are safe, don't blame Melissa..."
"The child lying in the hospital bed is not your son, so of course you are not in a hurry."
Seeing that I had a bad attitude, Melissa's guilty feelings disappeared.
"Ralph Harris, none of us expected to be kidnapped. Why are you taking it out on Harry?"
Look, Kenny hadn't said anything yet, but Melissa had already defended him.
I should have gotten used to it a long time ago.
But, just thinking about Roger hearing his own mother choose someone else, I couldn't imagine how desperate he must be.
I looked up and stared at Melissa, "Can't you even recognize your son? He still has that necklace around his neck, which you put on him."
"Melissa, what right do you have to be Roger's mother?"
