After My Marriage, My Mother Goes Wild
After My Marriage, My Mother Goes Wild Chapter 1
My mom is an extreme marriage pusher.
Right after I graduated from college, she kept setting up various blind dates for me.
She said that marriage and having children were a woman's destiny. If I didn't get married, she would have to keep her head down when visiting relatives and wouldn't have the face to meet our ancestors after she died.
She also said that if I didn't get married within a year, she would cut off mother-daughter relations with me.
As she wished, I got married.
Two years later, for my mom's 50th birthday party, she had someone bring me back home.
She asked if I was happy in my marriage. I nodded my head obediently, but my eyes were blank.
It wasn't until she saw my body covered in bloodstains and scars, and learned that I was abused daily and that my husband let countless men come to my bed for money, that she went insane with regret.
She regretted it terribly.

Two years after I married Danis Lynn, for my mom's 50th birthday, a grand banquet was held.
She had my uncle come to pick me up and bring me home.
"Mia, when you see your family later, don't say anything out of line, or I'll skin you alive. Do you understand?"
The threatening tone in Danis' words made it hard for me to breathe.
I didn't dare to look up and nodded in fear.
Danis slapped me hard, knocking me to the ground.
"I'm asking you a question! Are you mute or what?!"
I crawled on the ground, trembling, and said, "I understand."
Two years ago, when I first met Danis for a blind date, he was well-dressed, refined, and well-liked by my family.
But after marriage, Danis completely revealed his true nature.
He would rage over trivial matters and speak harshly to me.
He would physically assault me when he was unhappy with work.
He would suddenly smash a wine bottle over my head if the food wasn't to his taste.
He was moody, quick-tempered, like a ticking time bomb.
After being tortured by him for two years, I had completely lost my temper.
Now, I am like a tamed slave.
Submissive and obedient.
Half an hour later, my uncle arrived.
"Uncle... hello."
Upon seeing my uncle, I greeted him respectfully.
My uncle looked surprised. "It's been two years since we last met, and you've become much more sensible."
He then looked at Danis with appreciation. "Danis, it seems you've done well in teaching your wife."
Danis' lips curled into a smirk as he said proudly, "You flatter me."
On the way home, I answered my uncle's questions carefully.
Throughout the conversation, I was extremely nervous, afraid of saying something wrong.
For this visit back home, Danis had beaten me several times over the past few days.
The purpose was to warn me not to say anything out of line.
I had long been tamed by him, so I didn't dare to defy him in the slightest.
When we got home, I saw the whole yard filled with tables and seats, and heard the sound of laughter and joy.
Relatives were gathered together.
My mom, sitting in the main seat, elegantly chatted with friends and relatives.
The atmosphere was lively and harmonious.
Upon seeing me, my mom's expression changed. She walked over to me, frowning and complaining. "Mia, why have you lost so much weight? Are you picky about food again?"
Over the past two years, besides beating me, Danis also often made me go without food for days as punishment. I had become so thin that I was barely recognizable.
But I didn't dare to tell the truth.
"I... I'm on a diet."
I answered weakly.
My mom looked at me helplessly, then turned to Danis with a gentle tone. "Danis, my daughter has always been pampered and troublesome. I'm sorry for the trouble she's caused you these past two years."
Danis smiled faintly and politely said, "Not at all. You're being too kind. We're all family. It's my duty to take care of Mia. I like her no matter what she's like."
Hearing Danis' words, my mom nodded with satisfaction.
"Seeing that Danis takes such good care of you, I can rest easy. Look at you. You used to refuse to get married at all, but now you've been married for two years without coming home. Isn't your marriage life so sweet and happy that you don't want to come back to your old home?"
My mom joked with me.
I cautiously nodded. "Yes."
Besides agreeing obediently, I didn't dare to say another word.
"It's good that you've experienced the benefits of marriage. I am getting old and can't be with you forever. The reason I pushed you to marry was to ensure that when you're sick or tired, there's someone to stay with you and take care of you. Now that you've married a good person, I can finally rest assured."
My mom spoke earnestly, feeling emotional.
After hearing this, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sorrow.
I wanted to cry.
But I dared not cry.
I could only endure the pain, bowing my head and saying, "Thank you, Mom."
My mom looked at me deeply and said with relief, "Mia, you become different after getting married. You are much more sensible and obedient now."
Other relatives also looked at me and nodded in praise. "Yes, I remember Mia used to be lively like a monkey, very troublesome."
"That's right. Look at Mia now, gentle and graceful, just like a virtuous wife."
"This is the benefit of marrying the right person. It must be that Danis treats Mia so well that she has changed so much!"
My uncle also couldn't help but take credit. "I was the one who arranged their marriage. At first glance, I thought Danis was a good match. Now it seems I wasn't wrong."
Everyone chimed in, praising Danis.
Danis smiled and accepted the praise one by one.
Meanwhile, I remained silent, only lowering my head further.
After the pleasantries, my mom pulled me to my seat.
When I sat down, my clothes accidentally knocked over a wine glass on the table.
With a loud "crash," the glass shattered instantly.
The sharp, jarring sound broke the last thread of tension in my heart.
Like a frightened bird, I quickly bowed down and instinctively pleading in fear.
"I'm sorry, but I didn't mean to!"
