Chapter 5

"Julia, Cora is pregnant. Just for the baby, sign it."

He took out the divorce agreement again with a more determined attitude.

Showing that he was not going to make it a stop.

The woman called Cora Lynn leaned against his body softly, with a valley girl accent. "The baby needs a father. Help us just for the kid."

Help them?

Looking at Daniel holding her in his arms, his eyes laid on me cautiously, as if worried that I would hurt his baby.

In an instant, I felt exhausted.

After getting married with him for a decade, I truly believed that he once loved me.

After the affection faded, he really wanted to abandon me for the sake of the child.

My eyes welled up with sourness, and I let out a sigh of relief.

Forget it.

I looked up and met Daniel's gaze directly, "Divorce is fine, but I want half of the company's shares."

Before he could refuse, I spoke again.

"Do you still remember our baby?"

"He was so young, he didn't even have a chance to see this world before he left me forever."

In the early years, Daniel and I had a child together.

But at that time, the company was just starting out, and Daniel was afraid of being burdened by the child. He didn't want to keep the child no matter what.

I will always remember Daniel's furious reaction when he saw the pregnancy report.

"We agreed to be childfree before we got married! I won't keep this child. Either divorce or have an abortion! You choose!"

Daniel threatened me with divorce.

I can't bear to part with Daniel, so I have to abort the child with tears.

Memories are like knives pulling at the tip of my heart, and I can't help but wet my eyes.

"When you forced me to have an abortion, did you ever think about today?"

When it comes to that child, Daniel's lips tremble, and he can't say a complete sentence for a long time.

He regretted it.

Regretting being young and impulsive, abandoning his own child.

Hearing my questioning, guilt can't help but appear in his eyes.

But the company's shares were important, and he was still hesitating.

Seeing this, I let out a sigh of relief, wiped away the tears from the corners of my eyes, and completely gave up on this man in my heart.

"Her belly... is about eight months, right?"

I glanced at Cora's belly, my face unclear.

"Just a divorce. I can choose to have a lawsuit against you, either one or two years, or a few months."

"But I'm afraid that her baby is not so patient."

"If someone exposed it on the Internet... wow, this baby's going to be labeled an illegitimate child in a lifetime."

I played my fingernails in a careless manner, sure of the fact that Daniel would agree.

I knew him very well. He won't let anyone else hurt the one he loves.

The one Daniel cared once was me; now is the baby.

Sure enough, Daniel finally agreed after hesitating for a moment.

"The company shares are of great significance, so I cannot give them to you."

"But I can supply you with an equivalent amount of cash."

"10 million dollars, credited within one day." I held up five fingers and wiggled them.

"Okay."

Daniel didn't have any objections. After being married for many years, he still had some feelings for me.
