After My Daughter Died, I Took Revenge on My Cheating Wife
Chapter 2
The door of Jack's house was open, and inside, the room was filled with a harmonious and lively atmosphere.
Xavier suppressed the roaring in his heart, clenching his fists and stood at the doorway.
After hearing his mother-in-law's voice, Xavier realized that Eileen was not the only one who accepted Jack and his son.
Well, Jack and Eileen grew up together, so gaining approval from their parents was not difficult.
His mother-in-law's voice was very loud, laughing like a boiling kettle.
"Ah, the son is better than the daughter. Look at Adam's little face. He's so cute. He's exactly the same as Jack!"
After speaking, the mother-in-law seemed to think of something and asked,
"Eileen, do you need to go home now? Xavier will be unhappy if he finds you're not at home."
Eileen's voice was weak, as if coming from the room further inside.
"Who cares? He can do it himself. It's hard for Jack to take care of Adam alone. What's wrong with me coming over to help him!"
As she spoke, Eileen's voice softened and became affectionate again. She called Adam loudly,
"Adam, come and try Auntie's spicy chicken. You talked about it all night yesterday, don't you?"
Hehe, spicy chicken.
Since Jack and his son moved back from another city five months ago, Eileen had seized every opportunity to come to Jack's house. If one day she couldn't take care of them in person, Eileen would feel lost.
At first, Xavier didn't know what was going on. During many late nights returning from work, all he found were leftover takeaway bags at home.
Xavier didn't understand why Eileen as a full-time mom was not willing to cook for her daughter. He acquired Eileen to take care of Angela.
However, Angela jumped out and tried to smooth things over for Eileen, saying that she was the one who wanted to eat takeout.
Looking at His cute and understanding daughter and the self-righteous Eileen, Xavier finally gave up pressing further.
Angela also knew that her mother had given her heart to someone else. She tried to retrieve by asking Eileen to cook spicy chicken for her.
But what did Eileen say?
"You can't eat spicy as you are a child. Cook it yourself. How lazy and greedy are you!"
If Xavier didn't go home in advance that day and overhear everything, Angela planned to cover for Eileen without telling him.
Xavier had a big fight with Eileen, but Angela cried and pleaded with him not to blame her mom.
Angela said, "It's because I'm not obedient enough that Mom suddenly doesn't like me anymore."
Yeah, since Jack appeared, Eileen had spent most of her energy on the father and son.
Xavier had thought about divorcing Eileen and raising the child on his own, but Angela didn't want to be separated from her mother no matter what.
So Xavier reached an agreement with Eileen. As long as she didn't do anything outrageous, maintained a facade of harmonious relationship in front of Angela, treating her well, he could tolerate her to see Jack and his son.
Until now, Xavier realized how wrong his decision was!
At the thought of Angela's disfigurement, Xavier could no longer control himself. He rushed into the kitchen and threw Eileen's spicy chicken to the ground.
Eileen was startled and hurriedly pulled Adam to her side. "Xavier, what are you doing here!"
"It's just that I didn't answer the phone. So you came to Jack's house. You're too petty!"
Xavier didn't respond but instead, he grabbed the broom and smashed everything in the kitchen, including the pots, bowls, ladles, and pots.
Fragments flew in all directions. Some even flew to his body and cut his exposed skin. However, Xavier couldn't feel any pain, mechanically repeating the actions.
The sharp sound of shattering could not erase the resentment in his heart!
Adam huddled pitifully in Eileen's arms. "Uncle Xavier is so scary. Did I do something to make him angry?"
Hearing this, Xavier looked at the boy who was two years older than Angela. His eyes were not filled with fear and innocence, but provocation and mockery.
But Eileen told Xavier that this child was smart and well-behaved, much better than Angela.
Hahaha! How could there be such a mother in the world!
Adam didn't deserve to compare with Angela.
Xavier rushed out of the living room expressionlessly and continued to smash things. His mother-in-law was shocked by his bloodshot eyes and called Jack in a trembling voice.
Xavier didn't stop her. Instead, he stopped what he was doing and stared at her.
Eileen followed and looked at the mess on the ground with a livid face. She seemed to want to rush up and beat Xavier, but she didn't dare to because of Xavier's scary appearance.
The mother-in-law shaken her fat body and comforted Adam in her arms. "Bad uncle! Heartless uncle! Don't be afraid. Let's ignore him!"
Xavier laughed, pointed at Eileen's nose, and scolded,
"You don't deserve to be a mother! How dare you leave your own daughter at home to accompany an illegitimate child!"
Perhaps it was because Xavier had vented his anger by smashing things, he felt a bit relaxed and didn't look as scary as before.
Seeing that Xavier looked better, Eileen got mad again. She straightened her neck and argued with him.
"Xavier, watch your mouth!"
"Are you crazy? Angela is fine at home. How could she die!"
Xavier almost burst out laughing when he heard that.
If Eileen had really seen her daughter in such a miserable state, would she still have said that?
Looking at Adam, who was staying with Eileen, Xavier suddenly felt that they were more like a mother and a child!
Bringing a daughter with such a mother was the biggest mistake Xavier had ever been made in his life!
Hearing Eileen's words, the mother-in-law instantly became confident. She gritted her teeth and said.
"Eileen just came to pick up Adam from school. Why are you making such a big fuss? You don't behave like a man. My daughter is really unlucky to marry you!"
"Besides, Eileen has locked the door and windows. What can happen to that little girl!"
Upon hearing this, Eileen immediately showed an expression of realization. "I knew that this wicked girl, Angela. She said that she didn't mind, but secretly went to complain and asked you to fight for favor for her!"
Eileen's words burned away his last bit of sanity. All Xavier could see was her hateful face.
Xavier rushed over and grabbed Eileen's hair. Ignoring her threats and begging for mercy, Xavier slapped her face again and again, which was full of fear.
