After My Mother-in-law Died, My Husband Regretted it so Much!
Chapter 2
Seth was about to give in.
Yuliana became anxious and interrupted me,
"Chelsea, can you please stop acting? I know you just don't want Seth to help me smash the golden eggs. Just say it. I won't stop him from leaving."
She bit her lips and looked at Seth, tears falling immediately.
"Seth, don't worry about me. Just go with her!"
"It's all my fault. I made trouble for you."
She turned to walk away, feeling aggrieved.
That was just her trick to keep Seth.
As expected, Seth, who was fooled by Yuliana's trick, immediately reached out and pulled Yuliana into his arms.
He pushed me away and said in a cold voice,
"You just can't bear to see Yuliana living a good life, and you don't want me to help her."
After saying that, he and Yuliana left quickly. No matter how much I begged, Seth never looked back.
I collapsed on the ground in despair, feeling too weak to get up.
Suddenly, Dr. Zain called me.
"Chelsea. You and Director Mason must come back now. Mrs. Mason's condition has worsened, and she is dying..."
I shuddered all over and got up instantly.
I drove back to the hospital alone.
My mother-in-law's face was pale, but she tried her best to look up and search behind me.
She was looking for Seth.
But he didn't come.
He went to smash golden eggs with his first love.
I hated Seth for being ruthless and cruel, and I also hated myself for being useless.
I stood in front of my mother-in-law's sickbed, tears streaming down my face and apologizing repeatedly.
"I'm sorry, mom. It's all my fault."
My mother-in-law seemed to know what had happened. She gave a bitter smile as tears welled up in her eyes.
"It's not your fault. You're a good girl. Gavin, please be a witness here. I want Chelsea to handle my funeral. Chelsea, don't set up the tombstone for me. Just plant poppies in my graveyard..."
My father-in-law’s surname was Poppy, and his favorite flower was Poppy.
He chose to be buried at sea.
My mother-in-law once joked that she wanted her graveyard planted with poppies after she died.
I nodded with tears in my eyes. "I'll do as you say, mom. Don't worry."
My mother-in-law's breath gradually weakened until it was all gone.
I threw myself on my mother-in-law's body and cried my heart out.
Not until I couldn't cry anymore did I gradually calm down and begin to handle my mother-in-law's funeral.
I called Seth again, but he hung up the phone in an instant.
He put his first love above his own mother. So, he certainly didn't care whether he could see Mrs. Mason for the last time or not.
I propped myself up, bought graveclothes for my mother-in-law, contacted the funeral home, and took my mother-in-law over.
When I came out of the crematorium, my mother-in-law had turned into a small box of ashes.
I didn’t understand it. How could my kind and considerate mother-in-law give birth to such a blind and ungrateful son?
I took my mother-in-law's urn back home.
Seth wasn't back.
He was still with Yuliana.
I waited for him on the couch all night, holding my mother-in-law's urn, but Seth never came back.
I couldn't believe he could be so cold and indifferent.
It gave me chills.
I went back to my room, changed into a black suit, and was about to choose a burial spot for my mother-in-law.
But at the door, I bumped into Seth, who had stayed overnight outside.
When he saw me, a trace of guilt flashed in his eyes, and then he explained,
"I got Yuliana a 50% discount on renovations yesterday. She was very excited so we drank a little..."
His voice suddenly stopped. His pupils shrank as he stared at the urn in my hand.
"What's that?"
