Chapter 3

One o'clock in the morning.

Fiona called me when she saw that I hadn't returned home. "Where are you? Why don't you go home?"

Facing her question, I said calmly, "I asked a lawyer to draft a divorce agreement today."

On the phone, Fiona was silent for a moment and then asked, "We're not getting a divorce, okay?"

Her words once again made my heart ache.

I thought I could totally not care.

But how could a relationship of so many years just disappear?

After hearing this, my mother-in-law's expression softened a little. She asked coldly, "What gift did you bring?"

I smiled and handed the divorce agreement in my hand to my mother-in-law. "This may be the best gift I have given you in these years. This time, you should be satisfied."

When she saw "divorce agreement" on the paper, her face changed drastically.

The guests and relatives around us were all silent, looking at Fiona and me in disbelief.

Fiona's face suddenly turned pale...
