After Leaving the Scumbag, I Became A Billionaire! Chapter 1
My mother was in the advanced stage of breast cancer, and her greatest wish was to see me and Brian Lim get married before she died.
On the wedding day, Brian did not show up.
My father was so angry that he suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.
That night, my mother died in grief and anger. So did my father, following her.
Overnight, I lost my parents who loved me the most.
The next day, Brian's childhood sweetheart shared a photo of the two of them having dinner on her Moments: [Who says childhood sweethearts can't compare to unexpected love? In Brian's heart, I will always be number one.]
I wiped away my tears and replied, "That's great! Such a two-timer qiute suits a manipulative bitch! What a perfect couple like you two!"
——
After taking care of my parents' funeral, I was completely over Brian.
We had been together for more than 3 years, but in his heart I would never be able to compare to his childhood sweetheart Yola Sue.
As long as Yola called, he would rush to her.
I no longer wanted to know the reason behind his absence.
Back at Brian's house, I packed my luggage and went downstairs.
I didn't take anything he had given me.
When I reached the door, I saw Brian coming back.
Seeing the luggage in my hand, he frowned and said sternly, "Are you running away from home?"
"This is not my home. It's your home."
"How long are you going to make trouble?"
His tone made it seem like I was being unreasonable.
I had no extra emotions to get entangled with him at the moment so I just kept walking forward on my own.
He grabbed me and then called his assistant, Zachary.
"Zachary, immediately find the best team of medical experts to treat Munsey's mother."
"Is that all right?"
He felt that he had done a good job.
"Brian, dear little White still can't walk. I'm so worried." Yola walked over slowly, holding a white dog. Seeing this scene, she immediately said hypocritically, "Munsey, are you angry because Brian didn't attend the wedding? White's leg got injured that day. I was so worried that I called Brian. I really didn't want to ruin your wedding."
"You know, the little dog is a gift from Brian. I have always treated White as my family members."
"Then let White take your name, White Sue. That sounds good."
"Brian, what she said is so awful."
"Munsey, be careful with your words!" Brian scolded me in a low voice.
So that's why Brian did not attend the wedding.
A dog's leg was more important than my whole family.
"Brian, let's break up."
After my parents passed away, my love for Brian also dissipated.
Ironically, Brian actually thought I was jealous. “Munsey Lee, can you be more understanding?” This was the sentence Brian said most often.
What exactly did it mean to be understanding?
"Why do you always quarrel with Yola? Can't you give in a little? It's just a wedding, and we can hold it anytime and anywhere." He said flatly with no concern.
"You mean our wedding is worth less than a dog?"
"It's not about the dog. It's the fact that Yola was extremely anxious at the time, and I was worried that she would be too sad and something would happen to her," he explained.
In Brian's eyes, Yola, his childhood sweetheart, was his treasure. He was always very protective towards her so whenever she needed him, he would be with her. He even allowed her to interfere in our relationship.
"Then have you ever thought that something unexpected would happen to my parents because they would be sad if you didn't attend the wedding?" I questioned him.
He was a sort of stunned, and asked worriedly, "Nothing bad happened, right?"
"It doesn't matter!" I shook off his hand and walked forward.
He tried to follow me, but Yola grabbed his hand.
"Brian, she is playing hard to get. Also, her mother just pretends to be sick to force you to marry her daughter. Don't be fooled again."
What she said was the last straw, with a loud "bang" in my mind.
When I realized what had happened, Yola was covering her face and glaring at me angrily.
I slapped her.
My palms were burning at this moment, which clearly showed the force I had put into it.
