Chapter 4

The next day, I saw Amira in my boss's office.

The door was slightly ajar.

A crowd of colleagues had gathered to watch the show.

When Rachael Petty saw me, she pulled me over and said, "Helen, come over. There's a crazy woman here. She is hilarious!"

Having worked in the CEO's office for so many years, it was the first time I had seen something straight out of a novel. No wonder everyone was so excited.

I heard Amira's self-righteous voice from inside. "Ethan Carter, how can you do this to me? I did smash your car, but I apologized just now. What else do you want?

"How could you let the lawyer sue me? Is your heart made of stone?

"Besides, you are not innocent in this matter. Why did you park your car on the street? If you hadn't parked your car there, I wouldn't have smashed it.

"Anyway, I don't have money, so I'll just give myself to you as compensation."

Then rustling sounds came from inside.

My colleagues were thrilled. "Oh my god, she's really taking off her clothes. She is crazy."

As we enjoyed the show, our boss's angry voice rang out.

"Where is everyone? Call security now!"

The assistant to the CEO was startled and quickly ran to his desk to call security.

Then Amira sobbed, "Ethan, I know I owe you money, but how can you humiliate me like this? You're just a rich guy. What's so impressive about that?"

My boss was furious and said, "It's quite impressive. My wealth attracts lunatics like you, doesn't it?

"I don't know how you got in here, but you have two choices: put your clothes back on and leave, or I'll have security escort you out."

I could imagine how dark Amira's expression was right now.

She stubbornly replied, "You've misunderstood. I came here to explain. I can't afford the repair costs, but I can offer myself to you until the debt is cleared."

Good heavens!

That was 30 thousand dollars.

Even if she earned 10 thousand a month, it would take 30 months to pay it off without spending a dime.

My boss, being smart, saw through her intentions immediately.

He coldly replied, "I told you, discuss it with my lawyer!"

Amira wanted to say something else, but the security guards arrived and dragged her out, her clothes disheveled, just before my boss lost his temper.

...

She clung to the door frame with both hands, unwilling to give up, and shouted, "Ethan, you can't do this to me. You'll regret it."

As soon as she was out, my colleagues hurried back to their seats, but their eyes kept darting towards her.

Afraid she'd recognize me, I lowered my head.

But to my disappointment, although she was not very smart, her eyes were quite sharp.

When she saw me, she was overjoyed and said loudly, "Helen, tell them to let me go. I have more to say."

Terrified, I buried my head even deeper.

Seeing I ignored her, Amira cursed angrily, "Helen Sanford, how can you not help me? How can you be so heartless? Helen..."

She kept yelling as she was dragged away by the security guards.

After she left, my colleagues surrounded me. Someone asked, "You know her?"

I shook my head vigorously. "How could I know such a crazy woman?"

I'd never admit knowing her. It was too embarrassing!
