After Exchanging with Her, I Succeeded in My Revenge
Chapter 2
Our parents still couldn't rest easy and called me aside to give me a warning.
They said, "Audra, the hospital is close to Lily's school. You should visit her more often and make sure she doesn't do anything foolish."
In my previous life, my parents had left the responsibility of watching over Lily entirely to me.
Whenever Lily donated blood to Lauri, they would blame me.
They said, "If you had paid more attention to Lily, she wouldn't have been manipulated like this. You've failed her and our family."
I had been scolded so much back then that I truly believed it was my fault for not taking care of her properly.
But now, I knew that her life and death had nothing to do with me.
I wasn't going to be a fool and take the blame again.
I replied, "Mom and Dad, you should know how busy I am. I don't have time. You're both retired, with money and time on your hands. If you're so worried, why don't you rent a place near her university and keep an eye on her?"
My mom was momentarily speechless. "But renting a place costs money, and your dad and I are quite busy."
They were busy with fishing, bird-walking, and relaxing vacations.
I chuckled, "Then let her live on her own. She's an adult now, and you've raised her well. She should be able to handle her own affairs."
Seeing that I was unmoved, my mom relented.
She even gave Lily five thousand dollars to buy new clothes to meet Cole.
