After Breaking Up, I Married My Boyfriend's Younger Brother
Chapter 5
When I woke up, the sky was tinged with a pale white glow. I rubbed my sleepy eyes and reached over, but the bed was cold and empty.
Just as I was lost in thought, I heard Yale's voice coming from the kitchen.
"Stella, go ahead and get ready, breakfast will be ready soon."
By the time I finished freshening up, the table was already set with a delicious-looking breakfast spread.
I ate in silence, when suddenly my phone buzzed with a new message.
My heart skipped a beat.
I opened it to find a message from Zane: [I had my assistant drop off your things.]
I wasn't sure what to make of his message.
What could be so important that he sent someone all this way to deliver it to a nanny's daughter?
I glanced up at Yale, who was eating his breakfast with an elegant, refined air.
Sensing my gaze, he tentatively spoke up. "Stella, are you perhaps looking at me with new eyes? Would you consider making me a permanent fixture in your life?"
After a moment's thought, I replied with a coy smile. "Sure, we'll give it a one-month trial period. If I'm not satisfied, I'll return you."
Clang! Yale's utensils slipped from his hands and clattered onto the table.
"R-really? You mean it?"
"Mm-hmm."
He then asked hesitantly, "In that case...Stella, can I take a picture with you to post on my social media?"
I didn't say anything, just held out my hand.
After the photo, I remembered to add, "Send me a copy of that picture."
He was overjoyed, his smile as bright as a thousand suns, his whole being practically radiating pink hearts.
