Chapter 5

They looked surprised when they found that I was not in the room but on the sofa in the hall.

I turned around and saw Flora, asking and pretending to be surprised, "Flora? Why are you here?"

Flora cried and fell to her knees, just like what she had done in my previous life.

She said tearfully, "Kristen, I'm sorry, but the baby in my belly is innocent. He can't live without a father.

"Please have pity on me and forgive Edward!"

When I heard this in my previous life, my mind went blank.

The pregnancy test stick was still on my bedside table. I sat in the living room excitedly, waiting for Edward to come home to tell him the good news.

I even planned to go to the hospital for another check-up in the afternoon to avoid being disappointed.

Unexpectedly, what awaited me was not Edward's surprise look but my death.

I looked at Edward sarcastically and sneered, "Is the child yours? When did you hook up with Flora? I didn't find anything wrong at all."

Edward felt displeased, and his face darkened.

Ever since I was diagnosed with the trouble of conceiving, no matter how successful my career was, it seemed that I owed him.

It was widely considered that no matter how capable a woman was, she could not compare to youth, beauty, and fertility.

Having trouble conceiving was one of the reasons why many outstanding older women were looked down upon in the marriage market.

Although I tried my best to hold on before, I couldn't completely ignore public opinion.

However, having died once, I only wanted to live for myself in this life.

Edward didn't respond. He helped Flora sit on the sofa and then sat next to her. Their relationship was evident.

Maria sat next to me and pretended to scold Edward and Flora.

After that, she started persuading me. "Kristen, it has already happened. Let's discuss what to do next, okay?"

I ignored her and looked at Edward. "Since you have admitted it, we have nothing to talk about. Let's get a divorce, but you must give up the property."

Edward was stunned as if he didn't expect me to be so calm and say what he wanted to tell me.

Before he could speak, Amy yelled, "What did you say? Kristen, you are infertile, so Edward can only let another woman give birth to his children. Why should he give up the property?

"You can't be so selfish. My family is wealthy. Edward must have an heir!"

I looked at Amy coldly. "You seem to have forgotten something. I earned all the money, and the property is mine!"

Edward was furious. "Kristen, you are unable to conceive. It's your fault. You should be the one to give up the property!"

"He is right!" Amy quickly echoed.

Maria didn't say anything. Obviously, she thought so, too.
