After I Accidentally Became a Mother, I Ruined My Husband's Family
Chapter 2
This moment, it was like being struck by lightning.
I clearly remember my husband told me that the pacifier was accidentally lost when he took Maureen to the children's amusement park!
Taking advantage of my mother-in-law taking Maureen to wash his hands, I quietly picked up my phone. My husband's password had always been my birthday, so I easily unlocked it.
In the chat with this woman named Yvette, there was only one message just sent.
But, if they had prior interactions, it was impossible they only chatted once.
There's only one possibility that Dwayne had been regularly deleting their chat history!
I pressed my lips tightly, a sense of betrayal surged within me, I almost wanted to rush to the kitchen and confront Dwayne about this.
But I held back, the matter is not yet concluded. If it was a misunderstanding, it would only harm our marital relationship. If it was true, I was outnumbered, and who knew what they might do to harm me.
So I took a few deep breaths, marked the message as unread, and went to the kitchen to serve dinner.
"How did Maureen's pacifier get lost at the amusement park?"
Dwayne glanced at me, his expression unchanged. "Oh, Maureen lost it while playing on the slide, why?"
"Nothing, just that I forgot to buy a new one today, is that okay?"
"It's fine, honey, you work so hard, it's okay to forget things!"
Dwayne kissed me on the cheek, and Maureen saw it and also wanted a kiss.
I had to temporarily suppress my questions and sat at the dinner table.
"Mom, do you remember the exact time Maureen was born?"
I asked my mother-in-law.
She looked a bit strange and asked back. "Why are you asking this?"
"Oh, I know a master who can change a child's destiny, very miraculous!"
"Really?" My mother-in-law's eyes lit up at the mention of changing destiny, as they usually believe in this, and she was very interested.
"Yes, if you can't remember, just find Maureen's birth certificate, it must be on there."
At the mention of the birth certificate, she paused. "Oh dear."
At this moment, Dwayne interrupted, "The birth certificate was lost during the move, besides, honey, you never believed in these things, why suddenly bring it up today?"
