A Wife's Revenge: Subduing Her Husband's First Love Chapter 1

I bore no men in my heart.

After the car accident, I only had feelings of joy and desire left.

The mistress my husband had been groveling to for five years fell into the water.

Without even asking why, he came up and slapped me.

I slapped back without hesitation.

"Are you an idiot? Can't you see the surveillance footage?" I shouted.

——

I woke up in the hospital and was told I had a brain problem.

The doctor said I could no longer experience negative emotions.

In layman's terms, I wouldn't feel sadness, timidity, fear, etc.

This was all thanks to that man who walked in with disgust all over his face.

My name was Shelley Harding, and I was the eldest daughter of the prominent Harding family.

He was called Patric Andrews, the head of the Andrews family. His family was the most powerful clan in Fywold City.

We had been married for five years and had a 4-year-old daughter named Elsa Andrews.

When he walked in, the nurse was helping me out of the bathroom.

Seeing me look at him, he frowned.

"Since you can walk now, go to the company tomorrow. The Andrews family doesn't keep useless trash," he said.

"Okay," I replied.

Maybe my response was too curt that he froze for a moment.

Then he rolled his eyes and left with his bodyguards.

I glared back at him.

I must have been blind and stupid to have loved him so much.

Lying back on the hospital bed, I went over the past 5 years and set 3 goals.

Firstly, I would develop bonds with Elsa.

Secondly, I would get divorced from Patric and get custody of Elsa.

Thirdly, I would find out who caused the car accident.

The car accident I mentioned happened a month ago, on our 5th wedding anniversary.

I had prepared a nice dinner, waiting from day to night.

But what I got was an anonymous video.

A woman was clinging to Patric.

"Patric, I don't want to stay in the shadows anymore," she said.

The heartbreak outweighed my fear that the woman was still alive.

I frantically closed the video and ran out of the villa, my mind racing through the past 5 years.

Initially, I fell head over heels for Patric and agreed to the arranged marriage proposed by his grandfather, bypassing my father.

But on the eve of the wedding, Patric suddenly disappeared.

That was when I found out he had a beloved woman, who had killed herself because of me.

Out of guilt, I agreed to a secret marriage and became a receptionist at the Andrews Group.

I gave birth to a girl in the second year of marriage and sent her to live with Patric's grandmother, Lynette Andrews.

I had two more pregnancies after that.

The second one, I miscarried after just 3 months, when Lynette and I had a dispute. Patric pushed me down the stairs.

The third one, at over 4 months, the family doctor said it was a girl.

To please Lynette, Patric ordered his bodyguards to have me sent to the operating table.

My child was crushed into bits. The doctor used forceps to extract and piece it back together.

Patric didn't even want to spend money on cremation, coldly letting the hospital dispose of the medical waste.

Seeing the urn on the bedside table, I was heartbroken.

I blamed myself for not being a good mother.

As the beloved heiress to the Harding family, I was reduced to a lowly existence in the Andrews household.

I tried to please them in every way, only to be met with insults and deception.

The thought of my five years of effort made me sick to my stomach.

Wiping away my tears, I resolved to make Patric, who had betrayed and hurt me for five years, pay the price. I would avenge my children.

I looked around, not knowing where I was after running out in distress.

But I should still be in the villa area.

So, I backtracked.

A sudden bright light flashed ahead, blinding me.

The roar of a car was getting closer.

Screeching brakes pierced the silent night.

I was flung and crashed hard onto the concrete.

When I woke up, I was already in the hospital.
