Chapter 6

Lucas knew that he couldn't harm this girl. She seemed genuine, her intentions pure and her quest honest. If they harmed her, it would be akin to harming one of their own pack members. Thus, he made the conscious decision to bring her to Alpha David, leaving her in the care of other warriors before seeking an audience with their Alpha. The situation was complex, and he needed his Alpha's wisdom to navigate it.

He knocked lightly on the door to Alpha David's office before entering. He observed the Alpha's confusion as he walked in empty-handed. David was puzzled as to why his Beta would delay him when he had explicitly ordered the rogue's head. Impatiently, he demanded, "What is it?"

"Alpha," Lucas began, slightly bowing his head as a sign of respect, "it appears the girl is seeking her mate, who seems to be one of our pack members." Before David could respond, Lucas hurriedly continued, "She mentioned that she'll leave with her mate. If we harm her, we'll be hurting our own people. I think we should allow her to leave with her mate, if he wishes to go as well."

David's eyes burned with anger, and he released a low growl. "And you believe this rogue speaks the truth?"

Lucas swallowed hard before replying, "Firstly, she's alone, and she arrived alone. I don't believe she has any ulterior motives." He paused, carefully choosing his words. "I think you should meet her once. Her presence—it's not what you'd expect from a rogue."

Although David was furious at the delay and the perceived threat, he trusted Lucas's judgment. Suppressing his growl, he stood from his chair and made his way to the forest clearing, with Lucas following closely behind.

As they approached the clearing, David could smell the rogue before seeing her. However, what surprised him was that he didn't find her scent repulsive—it was soon overpowered by a sweet mix of vanilla and lavender. As he neared the clearing, the scent intensified, until his eyes met hers.

"Mate," Ace, his wolf, whispered.

She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. The realization struck her as well, a crease forming on her forehead. She had thought her mate was a pack member, even a warrior she could convince to leave with her. Reality hit her hard. How was she supposed to ask the Alpha to leave his pack? Olivia thought, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on her.

Her mate stood tall at about six foot two, towering over her five-ten frame. He was impressively built, his muscles bulging from his tight black t-shirt, paired with dark blue jeans. Olivia was captivated by his sandy blond hair, soft and slightly messy, adding to his allure. The scent of fresh mint emanating from him only heightened her fascination. His body exuded power, dominance, and authority, much like her own. For a few moments, they just stood, admiring each other.

"Alpha," Lucas finally broke the comfortable silence, addressing David.

David, too caught up in the moment, blinked and then nodded. "Bring her to the guest room," he instructed the warriors, his voice tinged with a newfound softness. Then, he turned to Lucas and ordered, "To my office," before walking away.

Olivia sighed, realizing the implications of her mate being an Alpha. Time was not on her side; her own pack would soon start searching for her. She couldn't mind-link them without risking exposure, and she had no other way to contact them. The clock was ticking, and she needed to formulate a plan quickly.

Lucas led her towards the guest room, his presence reassuring. He could sense her apprehension, her vulnerability beneath the mask of strength she wore. Olivia knew that the next steps were crucial; her fate and the fate of her pack hung in the balance.

Lucas led Olivia down a dimly lit hallway, his steps echoing in the silent, imposing structure that housed the Blue Blood pack. She couldn't help but feel like an intruder in a world that was vastly different from her own. The scent of polished wood and damp earth filled the air, a stark contrast to the wild, untamed aroma of her own pack's territory. The walls were adorned with paintings and intricate tapestries, telling the story of a pack that had thrived for generations.
