Chapter 2

I decided I needed a change of clothes.

Reaching for a black mini-dress hanging on the rack near the hole in the wall, I slipped out of my nightgown and prepared to put it on.

At that moment, I noticed Antonio—still holding his sleeping girlfriend—seemed to be glancing in my direction.

My cheeks flushed instantly. I instinctively glanced at my reflection, noting the way my figure curved in all the right places.

When Antonio's gaze lingered, I quickly pulled the black dress over my head. It clung to my body, and I hadn't bothered to wear anything underneath.

Dressed now, I stole a few more glances at Antonio before turning away to head to the kitchen and fix something to eat.

I couldn't bring myself to cover the hole in the wall with my wedding photo, leaving it as it was.

I had barely started cooking when a sudden, urgent knock came at the door.

Turning off the gas stove, I walked to the entrance and opened the door. Only after it swung wide did I remember—my dress wasn't lined, leaving me practically bare beneath.

If someone noticed…

To my surprise, it was Antonio standing outside, the same man whose strength had overwhelmed his girlfriend earlier.

What was Antonio doing at my door?

When I opened it fully, his gaze froze for a moment.

The black silk mini-dress I wore accentuated my curves, with its delicate fabric clinging to my body in all the right ways, showing off my melons and hips.

Antonio's Adam's apple bobbed as his eyes flickered downward, catching sight of the view from my plunging neckline before snapping back up.

Clearing his throat, he finally spoke, "Yvonne, I heard you're a great cook. My kitchen's a mess, and I was wondering if I could pay you to make me something. I'm starving."

As he spoke, his gaze roamed again, lingering with an intensity that made my skin tingle. It felt like he wasn't just talking about food.

My black spaghetti strap mini dress showed off a lot of my fair skin on the front, with a low neckline and a short hemline.

One glance was all it took for him to see the smooth curve of my thighs beneath the hem.

Antonio's eyes dropped, and the heat in his gaze intensified as he stared at my leg.

The way he looked at me made my earlobes flush with warmth.

Still, his words left me momentarily stunned. Antonio, instead of ordering takeout, wanted me to cook for him?

Something about his heated expression made me wonder if he had an ulterior motive. My face grew warm. "Come in," I said, stepping aside.

I turned deliberately, letting my curves sway as I led the way back into the house.

I was curious to see what he wanted to do. Was he here to tease me?

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed his gaze fixed on me, zeroing in on my perky bottom. When I glanced back, I saw him swallow hard, his eyes never leaving my hips as I walked.

By the time we reached the kitchen, Antonio inhaled deeply, catching the aroma of the dishes I'd started preparing. "Yvonne, this smells amazing. You'll have to teach me your secrets one day," he said appreciatively.

He stepped closer, walking faster than I anticipated, and accidentally bumped into me.

I let out a startled sound, my soft body colliding with his firm chest. The contact was electric, and I could feel his hard physique against me. Our distance was so close that I felt a certain part poking at my backside.

"Sorry, Yvonne. I didn't mean to," he murmured, though he didn't step back. Instead, he seemed to lean closer.

My heart raced, and without thinking, I leaned back slightly, feeling the tension rise between us.

Antonio let out a sharp breath, almost a hiss.

Snapping out of it, I fought my urge to take it any further and detached from him before walking forward. My eyes caught the wedding photo hanging near the wall, a reminder of boundaries I wasn't sure I should cross.

Antonio followed close behind, emboldened by the moment. I could sense his hesitation fading, his steps more confident now.
