Chapter 4

But I never thought that Silas would use it as a bargaining chip to make me take the blame for Zara.

With a cold face, I shook off Silas's hand and spoke word by word.

"I won't take the blame for your sweetheart anymore."

"Silas, we're done."

There was a noisy sound outside the door, and it was obvious that the reporters had arrived.

I decisively pulled the door handle.

The next second, I was hit hard on the neck and then I fell down limply.

When I opened my eyes again, I found that I was back in my villa.

There was no one around, and I subconsciously reached for my phone, only to find that it was filled with negative news about me.

"The head of a well-known laboratory and her fiancé were hospitalized after having sex, and their private parts were bleeding profusely!"

"Dozens of foreign bodies were removed during surgery! There are so many beautiful researchers!"

There are also caring messages from relatives and friends.

"Elara, what's wrong with you? Even if you have a good relationship with your boyfriend, you have to take care of your body!"

"You and Silas are playing too much. Hurry up and let him marry you. Otherwise, if something goes wrong, who will marry you in the future?"

Only Xavier's inquiry was normal.

"Are you okay? I called you hundreds of times but you didn't answer. Remember to message me back."

I nearly crushed my phone.

But Silas pushed the door open at this moment, and raised his eyebrows when he saw the anger on my face.

"Who told you not to cooperate? For Zara, I had no choice but to do this."

"Now everyone knows that you were the one who was with me that night. It's useless even if you continue to make trouble."

I stared at Silas and spoke.

"Did you forget that there are surveillance cameras in the hotel?"

Silas's breathing hitched for a moment, but soon returned to normal.

"It doesn't matter. I'll call and have someone delete the surveillance footage right now."

"Also, just in case, don't play with your phone during this period. Rest here until the storm is over."

Silas took my cell phone and locked the door.

When I heard the sound of the door closing downstairs, my heart sank to the bottom.

After seven years of relationship, he pushed me to the forefront and humiliated me for his new love.

It's time to end this relationship completely.

I pressed the red button hidden behind the bedside table.

Half an hour later, Xavier drove over and rescued me from the villa with a spare key.

He also used his connections to help me find proof that the person with Silas that night was not me.

After doing all this, Xavier turned around and clenched his fists involuntarily.

"This Silas is such a scumbag! I'm going to throw all this evidence out there right now and bring disgrace upon him and that bitch!"

But I stopped him and asked.

“When is the academic exchange conference?”

"In three days."

I told Xavier with a smile on my face.

"Then I'll announce it in three days."

Is it enough to just be ruined?

I want Silas and Zara to go to hell and never be able to get out of this life!

Xavier also understood what I meant and extended his hand to me like a gentleman.

"We didn't get to drink together last time. I have a nice winery abroad. Would you mind going over there to have a taste?"

I nodded, and that afternoon I boarded a private plane and headed straight to Xavier's winery abroad.

Three days later, the academic exchange conference was held as scheduled.

Silas attended the event in a high-profile manner with Zara, and countless people surrounded them and said compliments to them.
