Chapter 1

In order to overcome the experimental difficulties, I led the team to work overtime for 36 hours in a row and finally obtained the key data.

One second before the data was delivered, I received a call for help from my mother who had a heart attack.

Unexpectedly, I was reported by my fiancé's junior schoolmate the next day and was expelled from the laboratory.

Even though I repeatedly told me it was an emergency, my fiancé Silas Grant looked indifferent.

"The laboratory is never allowed to answer external calls. This is the rule."

"Now that the data has been leaked, please sign the compensation form."

I was forced to leave the lab, but Silas had a candlelit dinner at La Mer with his junior schoolmate.

Looking at the corner of the laboratory revealed in the photo, I called the senior who had a conflict with Silas.

"I can join your laboratory and help you win the gold medal at this year's academic exchange conference."

"Request? Can your lab answer calls for help from loved ones?"

……

"Elara, I haven't seen you for so many years, and you're still as funny as ever."

"As long as you can come to my lab, let alone answer a call from a loved one, even if your dog is in trouble, I will drive it there myself!"

Xavier Sterling's voice on the other end of the phone was humorous, but I couldn't laugh at all.

"Then come pick me up, and I promise I can get it done tonight."

Ten minutes later, Xavier's car arrived on time.

I also quickly got into work mode after entering the laboratory.

Two hours later, a new data was sent to Xavier's mailbox.

Xavier's eyes were bigger than a cow's.

"No, Elara Vance, are you serious?"

"Before, I spent a lot of money to hire you to come to my laboratory as a consultant, but you refused. You said that Silas hated me the most and as his girlfriend, you had to avoid suspicion."

"Besides, didn't you register your marriage a long time ago? If you use my experimental results to spice up your relationship, I will break up with you."

Flavoring?

This is what I thought when I received the expulsion notice from the lab this morning.

Thought this was a surprise from Silas for our upcoming 7th anniversary.

But when I rushed to the laboratory, I found that all my personal belongings had been thrown into the trash can.

Facing my questioning, Silas's face was even colder than mine.

"During the experiment, you are prohibited from answering outside calls. Don't you know?"

Even though I repeatedly explained that the experiment was over and that the call I received was from a mother who had a heart attack, Silas just sneered.

"You're doing this again? Your mother just had coronary bypass surgery last month, how could she have a heart attack!"

"And the data has been leaked, how do you explain it?"

"Since you are my fiancée, I will not sue you. Just sign the compensation form and leave."

I stared at the compensation bill for $5 million without saying a word.

Zara Quinn, however, bounded into the lab.

She had her manicure done, wore perfume, and even put on some elaborate makeup.

Compared with me, who was unkempt and had been working in the experiment for 36 hours straight just to keep an eye on the data, it was like the difference between a princess and a beggar.

But she pinched her nose exaggeratedly.

"Elara, you haven't showered in a few days? You smell so bad."

"I know you don't like cleanliness, but this is a laboratory. If the experimental data is distorted due to personal hygiene problems, the loss will be huge."

I was angry, so I spoke rudely.

"You know this is a laboratory, but you don't even understand something as basic as calling your position during work?"

"Also, you were there when I answered the phone that day. You should know that I only transferred the call to 911 and did not leak any data at all."
