Fear and Hunger is an Android adaptation of this terrifying RPG that has become so popular due to its high level of difficulty. This version of the game offers a similar experience to the PC version, but with controls adapted to touchscreens. Both the graphics and the plot of the game are exactly the same as in the traditional version for Windows operating systems.
Four classes to choose from
When starting a new game of Fear and Hunger you can choose between four different character classes, each with their own background, skills, motivation for being there, and difficulties. The four classes are: Mercenary, Knight, Dark Priest and Outlander. It should be noted that, although at the beginning you will choose your initial adventurer, as you progress through the story it is possible to find and recruit the other characters inside the catacombs. What's more, if you want to go all the way, you'll need to enlist all the help you can get. That's why you should try to engage all the characters you meet along your adventure.
A dungeon full of dangers
One of the key aspects that has made Fear and Hunger so popular is its level of difficulty. It is not uncommon for your first game to last less than five minutes and end with your character in pieces. Many players die before they even enter the catacombs, barely two minutes into the adventure. Everything is potentially lethal. One of the primary elements to keep in mind when you start playing the game, in fact, is that in Fear and Hunger you do not gain experience or gold for defeating enemies. There is nothing to be gained from looking for a fight in these dungeons. All you'll get in return for fighting a pack of hungry dogs is a a few bites. And maybe an infection for good measure. Ultimately, one of the best pieces of advice that you can get is to assume that death is an integral part of the game experience.
A dark and intriguing backdrop
Although its high level of difficulty is the best known aspect of Fear and Hunger, the truth is that the richness and depth of its backdrop is what separates it from many other similar RPGs. As already mentioned, each of the four initial adventurers has their own motivation for starting the adventure, which in one way or another is connected to what is going on in the catacombs. Each adventurer also has their own unique ending. In addition, there are five other special endings, for a total of nine different endings, which you can only get to if you explore the game's entire story in depth. To do so, you will likely need to read all the books you find and talk to all the characters.
